Re: cracked block

yes, thats where they crack because of the high temp difference with coolant on one side and a red hot exhaust on the other. if they had a heat shield there i dont think they would crack, or if they had a thicker cast like the later models they are better aswell Hmm... so the shield that is bolted ...

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

Webby, yes using flat top pistons in an Astron I bottom end would restore the compression back to stock Magna, like around 8.5 to 9 I think Webby is also referring to an astron 1 head (don't know why? ;) ). In that case you would end up with some rather high compression... not sure exactly, but wou...

Hey mate, Welcome to the site. Well thankfully the GK rear end will not fit the GE (so leave the disc's there for your son!) You should be able to slot the complete rear end from a GH scorpion into your GE, giving you disc's & a far better diff ;) (if you do take that route, don't forget the han...

Yeah the interior is mint on that (worth the $200 alone really lol) Hmm... the 8th or 9th pic down is a bit disturbing though. if the rust on the panels is 'quite bad' might want to remove them and have a look at the chassis rails... unfortunatly, stuff seems to build up there pretty bad over the years and has no where to go :(

Yeah, after some more thinking have shied away from the idea of it; too much hassle, and the cost of a new unit, its not worth it.

As above... wise move :)

Although... if your planning to be putting a new engine in anyway? just buy an auto 2.6? it will be the same amount of work to put the 2lt in?

Whats wrong with the 2lt at the moment? few too many km's over a rebuild?

3: I would look at getting a spacer plate made to go between the carb and the manifold, and run the fogger nozzle there (before the manifold) as there isnt much room in the base of the manifold, and you might get some fuel/nos pool in the base of the manifold, a spacer obviously will give more room...
