Re: my first (real) project :)
What are they worth? seems to vary a lot, availability & condition. $150 does seem like a decent price though. Definitely track down that other box though ;) much better idea (you notice the difference after driving with both...) 5th gear ratio's are: (taken from the GH book keep in mind) Borgy ...

Re: my first (real) project :)
Torana68 pretty much sumed it up... they are crap. used to have one in my GH... used to called it the 4 and a half speed slush box  If you can find a narrow jap box in a decent condition it would be a better route. preferably from a car that you can also get the other bits from ;) Then again, i...

Why do you want an electric one?? the mechanical ones work fine.
Hmm.. maybe you could throw a wanted add up for a "100% known working carby" ?
Surely someone has a decent solex?
Nick.

Re: GB Galant windscreen rubbers??
Hey, Not sure on GB ? but the countless times i've been to O'briens (don't ask  ) they have always been able to get rubber to suit the GD. Might be worth a shot. Just had a look at the pamphlet in the glove box... only seems to have the number of our local branch on it, although there was a 13...

Re: my first (real) project :)
Ok i went and had a look its stil stuck to a 2.6 narrow, and i didnt see but i think the bellhousing is detachable, its stock so i would assume so. When you pick it up, make sure it has 3 holes at the top of the bell housing (one on one side, two on the other) http://www.fotothing.com/photos/ba1/ba1e4787c1e4740bcac256ad42538eff_c80.jpg Looking at the pic at the top right, you can just see near the starter motor there is two holes at the top, th...

Welcome to the site! I'm wondering if the Magna head with hydraulic lifters would be a straight swap... Hmmm.... Not a straight swap, but it isn't too difficult either. Makes for a lively little 2lt ;) Cheater, just curious, what head did you have on a 2lt? (when you say try a M8/9 i'm guessing you ...

Don't send it to the grave yard yet... not for such a silly problem. (although they can be frustrating lol) Could probably rule out the vacuum in the tank, fuel filter blockage etc, as these would normally show up at high rev's, which he said it runs fine at? its an astron, so is electronic. Sounds like your already on to the easiest idea mate; re drill the holes in the rails. If you find that this is still not enough? bolt some 30*5 plate on top of the rails and then you can put the holes where ever you want ;) (if you do go this route... weld the bolts to the plate, this will save muc...

That 'bearing looking thing' goes in to the hole of the top balance shaft (ensure it gets put in square! making it sit flush with the edge of the block face) -Blocks off the oil gallery which lub'ed the top balance shaft. The stubbing shaft... there is another balance shaft behind the oil pump. remo...

Yeah i found the same here, but it was more so that Enzed didn't want to touch the car stuff.
Should be able to get them made up at any brake shop though? for reference, it cost $120 for the four that lead to the struts on the galant (as they are 2 pieces...)

Not sure whats going on with out seeing it in front of me? but would imagine although they both fall under the "jap box" nic name, they are different variants. if so, having a different spline doesn't really come as a surprise. If that L200 is still accessible, get the input yoke from it, ...

If your referring to the borgwaner 5 spd? i wouldn't even use one as a paper weight... Even if you did use one as a paper weight, it would probably still find some way to fail as that tooSpEc_OpS wrote:or do u guys think ill get away with jus a normal 5 speed with the h/d excedy
