Twin DCOE weber manifold with EFI billet throttle bodies - or just go 45 DCOE webers will do everything the same as EFI on the vehicle without the extra expense of going EFI

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Slowly working away at our vehicle - since I decided the car need a complete rewire - got bogged down and in between, had idiots damaging both front guards on the vehicle. The original relay & fuse system has been replaced with a Racepack Smart Wire module - should have the wiring fully finished...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Yes I can see where your coming from. Definitely no clearance issues on the head of the flywheel bolts to the torque converter nose. Any experience is worth listening to - you will never hear otherwise from me. Don't get mislead by writing on a forum which never indicates the true meaning of what is...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Don't remember which bush is in the back of the crank to be quite honest, although I do remember it being a bronze bush with a normal tolerance. We are using the ARP 203-7304 bolts - http://arp-bolts.com/kits/ARPkit-detail.php?RecordID=1325 What difference does it make on the head diameter of the fl...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Well we pulled the box out today and thankfully, as expected minor damage but clearly evident it has simply torn the bolts out of the torque converter. Our plan at this stage - is to repair the damage, and refit it back with 9 - 12 bolts. Why 12 bolts? Simply because I have twelve holes due to the p...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Definitely not an alignment problem, laser cut custom sfi approved flex plate with ARP bolts. This actually tore the thread out of the torque converter. Either way conversion to a 6 bolt for improved strength will help and going to look at using harder material welded onto the torque converter which...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
The car is currently running 19 psi on wastegate pressure only. Not planning on running anymore than that at this time as we are only stock magna flat top pistons, no forgies at this moment. WE knew we would have weak links somewhere - that's why we are doing the test / tune events to work these thi...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
The car went well .... the driver not so good. Did our first run (on video) with a very easy launch, no power 1st, some power 2nd and 100% throttle to 6500 in 3rd and backed off to check the tune. All looked good and we planned on just doing full launch / full run 2nd time round. idiot driver (Me) d...

Brought the vehicle home tonight in preparation for the track tomorrow. About 90% ready but time will tell how it goes. Check our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Racing-Performance-Works/220723894620525 - for some updated photos. Must admit the cars starting to look great again, remin...

Well good news yay - going down to the track on Sunday for a test and tune meet to do some runs with the galant. Did some trial anti lag launch tests tonight and all working fine. Tomorrow night will do the tests with the transbrake system running as well and then its basically other than some mild ...

We used there upgraded input shaft which is around 2" longer which forced us to space the gearbox out furhter as well as get a customised torque converter made.

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
The transmission has a whole heap of billet parts. Built to handle up to 900hp behind a big v8 :) Since we only plan on pushing around 600hp at the max at the flywheel, we are well within the tolerance range. All the parts came from a company in the USA called SMr Transmissions - http://smrtrans.tri...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
well to continue my hard luck story, we got it running on the dyno, and then after 1 power run it produced 230hp at 15 psi boost (Very very conservative tune) then dropped tranmission oil We pulled the box out and found that the torque converter spline shaft had broken on a weld and leaked fluid, da...

Re: Mitsubishi works cam tuning
No stress sounds like you are on the ball with it. Whenever we do an engine build we use an acid cleaner on the inital clean and then it is flushed out with water and degreaser. There may be some residue degreaser in the engine block water galleries. That is why we always do a coolant flush on the 1...

finally after a long period, we have started getting the work done on the vheicle again. The main hold up has been the new sfi approved flex plate we had made, had to have the holes laser drilled for the torque converter bolt pattern. Unforutnatly took 3 attempts by the machining company as they kep...

Re: New 74 Galant GTO GS2000 member From New Zealand
There is a massive difference fitting the 4G63 SOHC Turbo engines to a DOHC turbo engine. Mostly because the SOHC setups have everyting in the right way for a rear wheel drive vehicle, where the DOHC engines require significant amount of fabrications. side effect is though, the SOHC Turbo EFI setup ...

Im so jealous - thats definitely one of my dream cars the Jap Spec GTO models. I love my 2 door but would give it up in a moment for one the GTO models. They just have that Mustang style look that makes them look like there going fast just standing there.
Good luck with your project.

Another update - managed to get the car on teh dyno breifly before we tore up the flex plate again. This was only a stockie but won't handle any of the load we are throwing at it, even at 7 psi boost. Sent it off and now getting a SFI approved billet one made by PAR Engineering with intergral ring g...

Re: Garage Sale - Huge range make an offer and we may accept
I have another product which if we don't get any takers, we will place up on ebay. I have a stage 3 Turbo profile, adjustable tappet to suit 4G52 / 54 sigma model engines. (Will not suit Magna as no waterpump fitting on back of camshaft). I don't have the specs on hand for the camshaft as it was a c...

Re: RPW now Turbo'd Galant Updates for those interested
Been a while since I looked into rims - chasing after some stock 14" rims off the sigma range.
I need to fit my new 165/14 front runner tyres onto my Galant, but Im running sigma front brakes so it has to be sigma rims to have the right offset.
If anyone has any in Perth, let me know
