Re: My GD

I think you need to change you title to "My GC"
that id plate pic clearly says 3/75 in other words March 1975 = GC

When stripping mine I noticed that the body was galvinised. Pretty sure the sedans weren't.
Might have also been something done in Japan???

Re: GC galant coupe weight

Somewhere, someone must have sales figures and import numbers???
Even a total figure would be great but a break down for both models would be awesome.

Re: GC galant coupe weight

All good man. I would genuinely like to know if theere was GD Coupes. As I said I have read all about GC and was lead to believe GD never had the Coupe as an option. Would like to know sales figues as well as any differences besides the Grill, Quad headlights and Tail lights. Maybe they had differen...

Re: GC galant coupe weight

Firstly, I am too old and smart for drug abuse. Secondly, prove me wrong, show me sales figures for the GD Coupe. It is way too easy to replate an old defected car. GC75, have you never seen a GC with GD lights????? Yours has a GD grill........... does that make it a GD??? Anyone who has a GD coupe ...

LOL, it probably would be easier to make one or maybe a Sigma one would fit, they are pretty narrow.
The pic I posted above is the exact same as the one in my old GA

Re: GC galant coupe weight

Hate to annoy people but lots of the info here is wrong. The GC Coupes weighed about 920kg. There never was a GD Coupe, Coupes were only made in 1974 and 1975 (GC only). The GC Coupe has its own grill not the same as a GD but did have quad headlights. (this is often confused as the Coupe grill was v...

Re: Galant Centre Console.

Yes they did, I believe it was very similar to the GC GD Galant around the shifter just short and not joining up with the dash. See if I can find you some pics.

Re: Which motor for my track car?

When MMAL made the AWD Magna's, they remembered that a diff can go in the back too and put their hands up for V8 Supercar consideration. Unfortunately they were knocked back, or it was going to cost too much , or whatever. The point of my story is that had they gone into V8 supercars we might just h...

Re: Which motor for my track car?

My vote was for "something you hadn't thought of" Depending on what sort of track car you are looking for, I would be doing this if I had the time. "The Dignity featured Mitsubishi's 8A80 4498 cc V8, a 90-degree aluminium-block GDi engine producing 280 PS (206 kW) at 5000 rpm and 412 ...

Any news on the Galant? You need to ditch the Isuzu crap and put all ya time into the Mitsi's, lol

Mate that looks great, I am wanting to put a 6G72 into my Galant so I am looking forward to further updates.
I am lucky that I can just grab a RWD MK Triton and rip the motor and box complete.
Keep us up to date

I get that these are the wrong size but what I am asking I guess is, are these suitable for the money? And what sort of spring rate would you guys reccomend for a sport/road going GC Coupe?? Cheater, Panda??

And does anyone know the OD of GC Galant struts???
