Re: Electronic speedo
Speedhut does have non GPS versions too, which are what I've been eyeballing for my Coupe. That being said, I also have a Supra R154 5spd so I have the option of using a factory electronic speedo sender to mate to the Speedhut gauge.

Re: Help me choose a turbo
Chinese turbos may be getting better, however is it a gamble you really want to chance a motor on? Better off saving those pennies for a real turbo that isn't a knockoff. You could still have a GJ Siggy but maybe you have a 4g63t swap, we don't necessarily know, so thus the questions were asked. :th...

Re: Engine options for the Hardtop (4G54 vs. G63B vs. ????)
just go 6g72 if you really want to be different (there is a couple guys stateside doing this already lol). I opted for the g54 in my wagon, after I had already replaced the rod knocking g32 with a g52 and now the 2.6l w/ 2.0l head and sidedrafts. Benefit of timing chain....change every 10...

Re: headlight conversions
I run Autopal H4 conversion lights in my Wagon, still need relays to get the most out of them, however they do a much better job as is compared to the stock H6024 lamps. Not sure if all landing lights are the same, but most still require you to replace the whole assembly to replace a burnt bulb, H1/...
Re: 75 Wagon
Hell with linkage, I'll make my own setup lol.
Dellorto stock transfer linkage in the center and Mazda B2200 cable pulley with a little filing to the slot to open it up for fitting onto the carb.

Gotta order the linkage this week.
Re: 75 Wagon
be gone rust! However rethinking this battery tray area...would require new steel cut and welded in, so we just coated it with rust converter after cleaning up and then I'll paint it. Going to get one of those small Odyssey batteries and adapt a 1g dsm tray to suit! Realized I forgot the water pump ...

Re: Stupid wide block into GD Galant question
While I am keeping the clutch fan (considerably larger and evenly spaced 6 blades vs a g52b 5 blade), I'm also going to wire up an electric fan to a switch for added cooling.

Re: Balance shaft removal - WTF
Mitsubishi balance shafts have always just been a creature comfort thing...look at the original 4G52, no balance shafts. When balance shafts break in a g63, epic chain reaction of carnage to the motor usually follows.
The kits are only 15-$30.

Re: Stupid wide block into GD Galant question
No need to eliminate the water pump clutch fan on a GC/GD, just get a L200 radiator, that 1600 radiator isnt going to be big enough to cool the astron. I had all 3 types of radiators set next to each other, g32, g52, g54. The g52/54 rads were quite bigger than the g32 and the g54 was bigger than the...

Re: Galant Alternators
If you were astron swapped, I would suggest a Starion (not sure if siggies are the same) alternator, 75amps vs the stock 45 or 50amp alt and the later alt is internally regulated.

Re: Dohc g63 plenum. Which way did you go?
No you would have a MAF, MAP/Speed Density is a conversion. Evos had a MAP sensor on the plenum and then a MAF, but the MAP sensor was used inline with MAF or whatever. Most common sensor used for converting with is a GM 3 Bar MAP sensor. However, before you would consider this idea, you would need ...

Re: Dohc g63 plenum. Which way did you go?
By MAF I'm assuming that's a mass air flow sensor? And what do they do? What do they look like? And where are they on the g63? Located just before the filter on the intake. The ECU needs it for calculating the proper air/fuel mixture, the MAF calculates the amount of air that enters the intake. On ...

Re: 2Ltr sigma motor into GD HELP!
A narrowblock g54 flywheel could work, the g63 flywheel would require milling the center hole to fit the pilot bearing. The swap is pretty straight forward though and yes get the 2L clutch kit. If you look at my '75 wagon build thread, I did this same swap already. Only the g52 was out of my 77 wago...

Re: Seat rail ideas
Just like 77galantv6 wrote. Some seats are pretty much a straight bolt in. I have Recaros in my wagon, they have the same width in the bolt up pattern as the factory Galant seats. All I had to do was drill 4 extra holes in the factory seat slider rails (Recaros bolt up with 6 bolts not 4), I used t...

There is someone over there somewhere with a real AMG Galant, he's a member on galantvr4.org, Membername is bazeng, maybe give him a chat?
The Stroker will probably respond better with the stroker in NA than it did in stock form. Get a g64 bottom end and you could stroke it to 2.6 ;).

Re: Our 1975 GC Hardtop (pic heavy and epic read!)
The AMG g63 although a great idea is not going to be (175hp NA) easy or cheap to find, there were only 2500 AMG Galants ever made and any part with AMG in the name is high dollar. Stroke that g63 .

Re: 75 Wagon
I should have been specific...the g54b is fine, the g52b block which the head is from would probably get the whole run through from head gasket surface to honed cylinders (it needs a honing).
Re: 75 Wagon
Block surface is fine, head surface has some scratches on it
Re: 75 Wagon
Yep, result of cooling issues that only showed themselves in warm weather. Thought it was the radiator and water pump, so I replaced the radiator with a 2.6l one and new water pump. Spring season hit and the Running hot issue came back. Headgasket was leaking internally and pushing coolant. Maybe no...

Re: 75 Wagon
BSE kit ordered, got new gaskets, and picked up a set of Dellorto 45s last night.
Left to do,
BSE
reassemble motor
Flywheel machined
Clutch kit
Header
Carb linkage
Wire up fuel pump
Swap slip yokes (to big spline for my wideblock KM132)

Re: 75 Wagon
Scored the g54b shortblock for $125 out of the wreckers, then come to find out after cleaning up the pistons and seeing some of the gaskets (rear main and valve cover are new, along with the rear freeze plug) it looks to have had a rebuild at one point. Pistons cleaned right up and no grooves in the...
Re: 75 Wagon
Yes, 215 is my g52 and 225 is a wideblock. It may have been a stupid question, but most of the time people seem to pull their motors out of RWD vehicles not 4WD, so I wanted to be sure with the KM145 lol. Mitsubishi likes to do dumb changes sometimes lol.
