Re: 4 door to a 2 door

Note the different curves to the rear of the car.. also I shop'd the second one for a reference to what a 2 door conversion would look like Not as bad as I was thinking but that could just be the angle and the fact it started as a nice example already. Its still fairly obvious though that something ...

Re: 4 door to a 2 door

Please don't.. Unless you're making it into a sports sedan race car and replacing the back seats with a roll cage, its just not worth it. As well as the obvious differences the 2 doors have a different overall shape, including the raised section towards the rear of the sides similar to the old schoo...

Re: 1.4 / 1.6 Into a Ge Wagon

I found that a 2.6L actually used less fuel than the 2.0 at highway speeds.. but for one specific reason, gear ratios. The 2.6 can comfortably cruise around at 2,000rpm.. which is quite efficient if you're light on the throttle, and especially so on the highway at 2,700rpm When I swapped to a 2.0L I...

Re: Opinions on new paint job

If you were going to mix something with yellow it should probably be a colour either side of it on the spectrum. ie. orange or green

I reckon Orange/yellow would look pretty cool with a black two tone.

Re: kermits next problem

Is it the same alternator that the car originally came with?

I had the same issue that Stealth suggested when I went from my 2.6 to a 2.0L L200 engine. Put my old alternator back onto the new engine and all was fixed.

Re: Sapporo G54b (12 valve-ish factory fuel pump odd-ness?)

If I were you I'd be replacing the head with a non-jet valve version. The extra jet valve weakens the integrity of the head itself, and quite often they crack in those areas.. There are some 'elimination kits' which just screw a plug into each one basically, but you'd be far better off with a standa...

From previous experience.. if your engine is capable of running safely and consistently on 91oct, it will probably produce LESS power using 98oct or higher However, if you raise the compression, or add boost, advance the timing etc.. something that may cause detonation and instability, the higher oc...

Re: GA Khancross Project - "Morgan"

Since theres no rego issue why not take the easy way out with the plennum clearance and just cut a hole in the bonnet, then stick a little reverse scoop over it :P

And then chuck another one on the driver's side just to make it symmetical (H)

Saves trying to modify the plennum at least..

Re: Has anyone built a Drift Car from a Early Mitsu?

With regards to an LSD being required, its more about your style of driving and car control whether or not you'd benefit over a locked diff, but the standard ones just won't cut it I've tried handbraking my scorp around a corner just for the fun of it, got to about a 45 degree angle and smacked my h...

The car was my daily... in between little upgrades and changes every now and then. (despite how unroadworthy some of them were :P) But then after 2 big ends, a mainshaft and a dicintegrated clutch I decided I need something else. Always wanted a bike, and am now legally able to get one, so since Jun...

American starions... 2.6L g54bt They had a special black 'turbo crank', 'turbo pistons' and had blow through Throttle Body Injection.. Perhaps due to the layout of the FWD water jackets/pump location etc?

Re: If this is a Jap Narrow Block 5 Speed... whats this???

From what I've found.. L200 utes and Scorpions (at least GJ onwards, dont know about earlier ones) need the gear stick positioned further back in the car, hence the extension I had both a wide and narrow jap box with the extensions, one from my GJ scorp, one from an L200.. but the 2 other boxes I've...

Re: Converting tail shafts??

From what I've heard.. a once piece tailshaft should be stronger than a 2 piece, and having less parts in it.. its got less to break But the reason behind the 2 piece is they have less vibration and dont rely as heavily on the 2 yokes being phased (aligned) in order to keep the driving speed constan...

the rear yoke between sigmas and scorps is different, the only difference is the central locatiing circle which centres it in inthe diff centre, one is slighty bigger than the other, pretty sure they are the same length as well, ive had them side by side before. You should be able to find a tailshaft with the same yoke on it I thought

I've used a scorpion jap box and 2 different sigma borg warners with the same scorpion yoke
The only time I found one that didn't match was an L200 narrow Jap box

Its an Eaton M90 supercharger.. ~1.4L/rev Since I plan to mount a 45DCOE weber directly on the back (facing the firewall) it will need to be positioned over the exhaust headers, going to support it on a bracket attached to the exhaust studs, and power steering mounts. Just to let you know, the 2.6 version from sigma's and even magnas should work fine.
I've done it before, had a 2.6L magna dizzy on a 2.0L motor and it made no difference

Not entirely sure what you mean by vertical distributor though, maybe someone else can help out there
