Re: GH Scorpion Build
Hi MRD, I am new to this forum and require info on your GH Scorpion rebuild. I have a 1973 Chysler Galant and cannot get any disc rotors for it. All the posts I have seen, research I have done indicates that the GH Scorpion Struts will fit the Galant, I note with hope in my heart that you have been...

Re: GH Scorpion Build
Love the car well done :) is that a hemi orange colour or something similar? Having a bit of a problem with a few suppliers trying to find the correct Australian Paint Codes, as apparently the US ones are different Sorry a few of these slipped by me unnoticed (I'm a busy boy!). I believe the name o...

Headlight warning buzzer
I don't know if anyone has ever posted this mod before (I did a search, apologies if I'm doubling up). All you need is a little piezo speaker/buzzer (worth $1 or something) from any local electronics shop, maybe a bit of wire and some basic soldering skills. One of the quickest yet handiest mods I c...

Re: GH Scorpion Build
Had trouble with stock shift stick pulling out (here), so modified a new Mookeeh MK1 Starion shifter to suit my early model 4 bolt jap 5 spd setup. Now all I need to do is decide which awesome "sickspeed" knob to buy next.

Unless something was glued to that capacitor, I'd say that the bubbly liquid leaking out the top of it isn't a great sign (though I'm no expert).

Re: suggestions for broken Jap 5spd fix or replacement?
Yea that could work :) If you could send me the thickness of the nolathane, that would be great.. It just sounds so much easier, when someone else does it  I think I'll make an alloy spacer (by make, I mean. Go down to the local engineer and get him to do it :P ). Also, my car was a factory au...

So.... Now you've successfully done that... Would you do another? Replicate the spacer, and shave the shifter plate? I'm happy to pay for you're time and products :) If so. Please pm me and we can work out a plan  Well the thing is :D see how my hole is cut out with a hacksaw? That's beca...

Re: suggestions for broken Jap 5spd fix or replacement?
Ok so all the local engineers were booked out for weeks, so I went to my local auto shop and got my hands on this handy Nolathane block. :) I then (lacking any slicey cutty power tools) took a full day about hacking a chunk small enough to work with off of it. http://www.sigma-galant.com/Scorp/19481...

Re: suggestions for broken Jap 5spd fix or replacement?
You're fine as long as you have the later model Jap box with the 4 bolt setup where the stick is mounted on top of the cup that accepts the tail shaft as opposed to being mounted in front of it. That's probably the quickest way to tell if you were looking down at it from within the car with all the ...

That's what I always thought, but tell that to my mookeeh shifter.wide narrow thing is referring to block to gearbox mounting point.

Re: suggestions for broken Jap 5spd fix or replacement?
the 3rd pic is of a GJ onward box, the same as what a Starion box gear shifter setup is, this is why it wouldn't fit I guess on the short extension housing. didn't even think about them being any different.. just make a spacer plate to make it fit your box. Ahh right - the curse of the oldest model...

My speeed cable: http://www.sigma-galant.com/Scorp/IMG_20140217_182155.jpg Screws up to the box fine - doesn't turn the cable. Definitely looks different to yours, but then again, I have the narrow box. Still dunno what to make of that. I have a speco speedo which is waiting for me to buy a sensor a...

Re: suggestions for broken Jap 5spd fix or replacement?
75glnt - got a wide or narrow box? lol
The bolt holes in the 4 bolt plate on this new shifter are 95mm and 60mm apart (measuring to/from center of holes), does that suit your setup?
75wagon - did you say you had a shifter with good parts on it? Is that still just lying around?

Re: Wide or Narrow (Motor or gearbox)?
so.. wide and narrow "block" can refer to an engine block , or the body of a gearbox? bugger - I guess that's where my new shifter went awry. I'm guessing the narrow box has a narrow 4bolt plate too.

Haven't had a chance to check speedo cable end yet .. BUT... the shifter arrived today, and there's a problem: http://sigma-galant.com/Scorp/IMG_20140217_130011.jpg As you can see, I don't have the BW box. I clearly have the 4 bolt setup illustrated above in GB_BB4C's post. http://sigma-galant.com/S...

GE/GH Nippon Denso ceiling mounted Clock
Seems to be a common thing for them to just work whenever they feel like it. Can always see what the time is by pressing the leftmost button, but usually it should be on when the car is on, but in many cases (like mine) it usually isn't. I have tried cleaning all contacts, and even thought I'd crack...

ahhh, sweet az! It leans back in neutral. That's all I needed to know, cheers. I have the right box, no question.
Not the right speedo cable though (I think).. Anyone care to take a pic of the end of their 5 spd jap box speedo cable (the box end) so I can confirm?

Much appreciated Dave! It's my baby though, and I bailed the 100% stock build train long ago, it deserves the good stuff (no offence at all, I'm sure that's a very fine stick you have there) You know I'd take it if I hadn't clicked 'pay' moments ago
