Re: Steering Column Bearing for PS Swap

Just about to do the same swap with my GH Scorp.
CBC Bearings can do the bearing for around $20.

It's an NSK bearing, the part number is RLM2015

Re: My new GH Turbo project..

Now I have seen some very average work done before, but to be honest, this is definitely up there with the worst. http://blackman-research.myvnc.com/SG/CARS/GH_TURBO_SCORP/Dodgy_Strut.jpg The strut is now a throw away. This weld was at the back of the strut so I couldn't see it until, after struggli...

Just one question.......U happy to share the rest of those cars with us??? or are u just greedy and keeping them all??? :P Have been trying to sell the 2 GN wagons for a while through Matt (Rally_2.6LC) but no takers. The other 2 GH Scorps are not for sale but for the right price, the GK and GJ Sco...

My new purchase.. Paid way too much for it but it does seem to have minimal rust. http://blackman-research.myvnc.com/SG/CARS/GH_TURBO_SCORP/Scorp_Turbo_002.jpg Running some of the GH Sigma turbo gear, but with a US Starion log exhaust manifold and a Rajay turbo. http://blackman-research.myvnc.com/SG...

Looks like I was wrong about the transistors..
Only resistors.

Still believe it would be a better option with the PWM Controller.

Re: Sigma Blower Resistor values

It's not that switch that usually fails.

There are a few wire resistors and a transistor in the blower unit that usually die. When the blower is on full, they are bypassed so that is why it will only work on full.

Re: Sigma Blower Resistor values

How electrically minded are you? The reason I asked is that you can install a PWM speed controller, bypassing the resistor/transistor setup. Massive overkill PWM Controller :D Easy to do, just use the full speed line into the fan, some resisters, and a bit of re-wiring for the dash switch into the P...

1. Remove the spacer at the bottom of the shock and make sure it doesn't get too hot when doing so (ie: NO BLUE FLAME SPANNER).

2. Machine out the center of the gland nut to suit..

Re: Fuel Gauge Resistance - LPG showing incorrect levels on

Most of the older aftermarket LPG guages I have seen use 2 variable resistors, 1 to set the high level and another one to set the low level, along with a jumper for direction. What you need to do is measure the VOLTAGE at the gauge. this will better help with making a circuit, if your gauge isn't ad...

Re: help with magna head to get high compression

2.5-3mm is the maximum you can take off a M6 to M9 magna head. The kidney shaped M8 or M9 head have a smaller combustion chamber, so would be a good place to start. A good idea is to also deck the block, so the pistons are 0.25mm above the deck height. This improves the "squish" zone, whic...

Mookeeh-MK1-Coilover-Kit-Starion-Conquest will fit fine, for about $400 delivered..

YES, you will need to do a bit of work to fit them, but if you are capable of doing the work, it's a cheep option..

Re: Microtech Lt9-c tach output and factory tacho

The Diodes go on the coil negative wire then into the original tacho wire to the dash. When the ignition is on, the coils should always have 12v running to them, the negative is then switched on and off to fire the coil. That negative pulse is what the tacho requires to work. Since you are using was...

Re: Microtech Lt9-c tach output and factory tacho

Alternatively, you could use the Microtech output, by simply using a resister and a N channel mosfet.
Jaycar have a N-MOSFET Driver & Output Module for Arduino which will work perfectly for what you want to do.

Re: Microtech Lt9-c tach output and factory tacho

All you need is 2 diodes if using wasted spark ie: 2 coils firing at the same time, or 4 diodes if you are individually firing the coils.

Diodes required 1N4007. Pack of 4 from Jaycar is approx $0.80

There are other ratios for these diffs.
3.9:1 is common in the manuals.
3.3:1 is usually found in the auto's.

Re: lc lancer oil pressure sender

If you are going aftermarket, I found a Datcon oil pressure sender on eBay that may do the job PLUS it has a 20psi switch as well. The factory units come on between 3-5psi and by that time, you're bearings would be stuffed.

Re: Lower control arms

Don't believe so.
The GE/GH have a press in Ball joint where as the GJ-onwards have a bolt on Ball joint.

IF you swap the Lower control arms, strut, inner tie rod ends and adjusters, then it will work.

A cheap option would be a GJ-GN Scorpion rear end. Same PCD and only a little wider than standard. Fabrication work will be required but it would be relatively simple work. The 10 bolt diff will be stronger than the std 8 bolt, but not a whole lot heavier.. Rare, but there are LSD's available. Cheap...

MegaJolt is a good "Ignition Only" unit, but if you are looking for a complete EFI solution, MicroSquirt is a viable solution, if you can programme it.
