Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
I get the impression that various outside agents/tuners (such as Mit-toy, DiaStar, Direct Connection in the USA, etc) all put selections of Mitsubishi competition parts together into various similar - but not necessarily identical - kits ? well if your talking C2/3 you only got the whole deal from M...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
It seems to depend which version of the catalogues you look at .... The one I have (which is dated Feb 77, produced by "Dia-Star International Corporation" rather than the "Mit-toy" ones) only refers to C-I / C-II / C-III Comparing the part lists, the only differences between the...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
I also discovered that there was C-Ia, C-Ib, C-II AND a C-III kit - but the last was designed for 4G35 powered GTO's C-II increased power to 148hp while Sazankurosurari's car clocked in at 165hp (but this wasn't with a commercially available kit). So I am sure now that I actually do have a C-III eng...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
Also just curiously why would the GSL not have a GS engine in it? Wouldn't the model name "GS"-L be a pretty obvious sign?? dunno from MEMORY  a GSL is a 4 door 5 speed 1600 if you wanted to go fast you bought the GSR 2 door (with GS engine) However before there was a GSR 2 door you...

The ex factory GSR of Mike Bell had 118 RWHP with factory extractors, and picked up a further 8 when fitted with a set that were an exact replica done by Precinct Performance in Gosford. nothing different overseas in Galants (rear bearing wise) , you got dudded..... Ill see if I can find a bearing kit number
CBC kit for Wagon Diff is either C211 OR D5294 both numbers on the packet, should be same as GE Sigma with Mits diff and maybe LC Hatch

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
nah the GSL is a stock 1600 the GSR is the GS engine (with bigger alternator which is why there is an alt in the Tune up parts for non GS cars) not sure who built the Works cars in Japan, Id assume it was Coltspeed, so Id then also assume as they were more of a kit build that they were GSR's off the...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
Note : The "GSR" designation is irrelevant to the above - it just means "1600 2 door twin carb". Nothing to do with them being a "rally special" or anything. Joghinder Singh's Safari-winning car was a GSL 4 door) [/quote] the C1/C2 kit was for the GSR car ( 2 door, GS ...

Re: Twin Solex Carbs + Electric fuel pump
put the stock pump back on if you can it will do the job, if it works then there is something wrong with the electric pump, if it doesnt , and you plumbed it up the same as the electric one is, you've a problem elsewhere, no need for a return line

two pack, but it can kill you (seriously!!) so if there is no spray booth or air fed respirator its acrylic
enamel with enamel add is also carcenogenic so Id pass on that as well, plus its a poor 3rd to the other 2 (ok for suspension engines etc if you can avoid the fumes)

probably worth 2K US if you want to sell for profit, 5K plus freight and hassles? you can get a complete reasonable MR for 10K in Japan, an engine might find a home with some nutty Japanese collector but the market is limited. Re: Galant booster issues.
hard pedal = no vacuum, so your getting vacuum , the return valve is to allow a build up of vac in the boster so when the engine stalls you still have boost (2 - 3 applications) sounds like either air in the lines and/or adjustment , and you should never reuse the brake rubbers its not a good practi...
