Re: falcon weber on saturn
The 32/36 was a 2L Escort/Capri thing. I think the Falcon Webers are 34ADM's. They work fine on a 2.6, provided you swap out the secondary jet with the jet from the original Mikuni/Hitachi/Aisin carb. As amgis_obrut said, it's probably a little big for a 4G32. IF, however, you do have a 32/36, a bit...

Those Statos are pretty cool
No such luck for me, I've got a bucket-o-shit TP Magna now. I had an '84 Corona with an injected NA 3TGE, but a Mack truck decided it was hungry and ate it Lucky I was off in the bush having a piss lol

Re: My GJ daily, and project GE
OK, some of you guys probably already saw this one on the old site, but here it is anyway. One 1978 GE Scorpion that was a 4G52 manual but now is just a manual. Thats right kids, no motor. I pulled it to do the rings and valve stem seals then discovered on disassembly of the bottom end that both set...

My GJ daily, and project GE
I figure it's about time I show you guys what I've got to work with, so here they are. One 1981 GJ Scorpion, complete with modded (read: hacked) auto console to fit the manual shifter and bad paint on the roof, bonnet and bootlid. Plans after I've paid Dad back are EFI, using the Magna pistons to de...

Re: need some urgent advice on going EFI and some other mods.
It's probably easier to just use the Magna head than get an adaptor plate made up. As for the compression issue, if you use the Magna pistons you should end up with about 8.8-9.5:1, depending on which model Magna you pull the bits from. Get the TB and thermostat housing switched to the other end of ...

hi from webby
Hey guys, I've been around for a while, both here and on the old forum, but I figured I'd introduce myself all the same. My name's Josh, I'm 19 and I always had a thing for Scorpions, 'specially GJ's. I've currently got 3, a 1978 GE, a '79 GH and an '81 GJ, although if my mate gets his way the GE ma...

Re: Who likes Datsuns???
Me! I had a 1200 coupe with a worked L20B/TRX 5 speed/TRX diff for my first car. Only problem was, it had a habit of breaking traction on the very slippery roundabout near my school. Dad confiscated my keys and sold it on me  It stands as the best car I've ever owned, given that my forays into ...

Re: jap 5 speeds, which models?
Both my GE and GJ Scorpion's have Jap 'boxes, can't tell you about GH's though, mine hasn't got a drivetrain :P Pretty sure they all had Jap 'boxes though? BTW, I had a GK with a 2.6/BW 5 speed that broke an input shaft during a spirited drive on some of the dirt backroads around here. Just some foo...

I heard that the TS Magna 4G54 rods are the best of the factory offerings in terms of strength. Not sure, though. Maybe someone can confirm this?

Dude, no offence, but you might get a bit more help if you spelt out you're posts correctly, instead of in "fulli sik bra" sms speak. I'm 19 and I can't read your posts, so think of the trouble some of the older members may be having. Anyway, with regards to the project, it'd be really blo...

I was just wondering if the springs are the same between GJ sedans and Scorpions? Those ebay lowered springs are looking kinda tempting
Also, will Magna front discs and calipers work on the scorpion struts?
Cheers

motor stuff, budget hi-comp Astron I in my new GJ
I decided to pull this particular train of thought outta WagonWheel's thread so I don't get in shite off the mods for hijacking ;) Webby, yes using flat top pistons in an Astron I bottom end would restore the compression back to stock Magna, like around 8.5 to 9 I think Webby is also referring to an...

Re: 4g62?????????????? thoughts?
I'm actually leaning towards one of these for my Scorpion, as I can pick up a complete engine with around 70k km for around $400. If you ignore the missing 200cc they are every bit as good an engine as the SOHC 4G63T, and considerably more common.

sorry to hijack the thread but if you put together a 2.6 using all astron 1 parts (head, block etc) but used Magna flat-tops what sort of compression would you get?

Re: Supercharged Zinger
dad had a supercharged 2.6 in a farm buggy he had, i think it involved an SC14 from an 80s mr2 on an adaptor to the standard manifold with a falcon weber sitting on top. something like that i learnt to drive in it lol

Back on topic, if you want a disc rear end grab a jap diff from an early scorpion. heaps better than the BW bullshit.
