Re: 4g63 box on a 4g52

Does that mean, a gearbox from a L200/L300 will bolt up to my 2.6 in my auto GJ? cheers you might get an L300 box to bolt up but as they are rod control (column shift or remote floor shift) you will never get it to work. To see if a Jap box will fit on your Anchortron youll need to find out if its ...

I do know of a Mk2 Ford Escort that has a 351 in it and is rego'd in NSW, but it was engineered over 20 years ago. Dave... 20 years ago yep, now no, if the rego expires these cars in NSW are being told to get a current Engineers Cert , which they wont. Also old LHD (converted to RHD) cars now requir...

i have seen ridicules builds certified 4 RWC, example was this ford mrk2 escort with a blown 454 in it at jamboree summernats you wont get a Mk2 Escort registered with a supercharged 454 you'd be lucky to get it registered with a supercharged 2.4 . I know in years past things were done but its not ...

yeah you can , maybe its a roll pin ? I dont think Ive ever taken more than one out so Im guessing its a pain, plus you need the key that fits. Maybe take the assembly off and go to a lock smith?

Re: What do I have to do to fit a factory turbo set up?

nah..... if your putting it on for giggles and dont care how long it goes for maybe. If you want it to work as a minimum (!) youll need a turbo distributor and a drop of compression somehow ( generally that would be new pistons to suit), it will need a reasonable supply of fuel, someone to check the...

they are all welded and welding is really the only correct way, bolting one you cut out wont cut it but you could maybe make a HD one to bolt in.

some 4G3 cranks are nitrided, for example the GS cranks..... others dunno.... wont make any extra HP, wears better and is suited to race use, in short unless you are racing it its not worth worrying about (and even racing at the level most would with a 4G3 it isnt worth worrying about). I did hear they had 3 leafs in the jap cars, the 2 packs were an Australian thing. Can anyone confirm that?

Dodge Colts are 3 not sure any Galants had more than 2 , GTO MR had 4 dunno about lesser GTO's. You need more than 2 for rally or youll be on your bump stops all night.

Re: How many galants were made ?

You might be on to something there Dave, while they were imported I believe the hardtops were done in batches and numbered as they came off the boat, nothing to do with date of manufacture. For example a lot GC hardtops seem to be 6/76. I assume a boat load landed either 5/76 or 6/76 yep its a numb...

Re: How many galants were made ?

Not necessarily ..... according to the manual, the GA/GB designation is just the "series" - it sort of implies that the body numbers didn't necessarily start back at 0001 again when the GB was released ? must have been zeroed. According to the AI / AII / GA manual, the imported A51 & A...
