Re: 4g54 a/t - m/t in search of jap 5 spd and diff qs?
WAIT... $880 sounds a bit steep unless that is an outright purchase (ie: no changeover gearbox required) I had a Starion turbo gearbox reconditioned (jap wide block but stronger internals than the Scorp/Sigma) for $600 and it was a complete rebuild. If the gearbox is in reasonable condition it's aro...

Nice interior, Gus did a good job on it.
It goes well with the 2L (cough cough)..
BTW: If you still have Gus's phone number, could you PM me please.
Cheers.

Re: Astron Serpentine
Chris, The TR's and TS's use the Serpentine belt for the Power Steering. Here's one I took off a TS, along with an M7 head and alternator. http://users.tpg.com.au/backman/SG/PS.jpg Just a note, I believe the timing mark is in a different place on the Magnas. Can someone confirm this? Cheers.

Re: Brake upgrade options.....
HASNOS_82, Sorry if it seemed like an attack, I was just trying to get across the point that there is ALOT involved in doing a brake upgrade, not just slapping on a different set of calipers and/or rotors. Personally I am looking at 300mm rotors and 4 or 6 pot wilwood calipers for the front and for ...

Don't forget the Magna Power Steering pump as well, or you could probably pinch the pulley of it to run the water pump.

Re: Brake upgrade options.....
HASNOS_82, how much money are you wanting to throw at the upgrade? Most people on this forum don't have a lot of money to throw around so that is why we look for a cheap and viable solution. The Starion upgrade may be "Old Hat" but it works very well and can be done on a very limited budge...

Re: Brake upgrade options.....
I agree with Sigmaproject. For the front brakes, a bolt-on upgrade is the starion front struts. For the rears, if you have/get a Jap diff, you can bolt up the starion rear vented discs/calipers with no modifications. Just make sure you get the handbrake cable with the diff. Make sure it's a 10 bolt ...

Sorry GC75, I was talking about the Speedo cable.
Usually the Yellow/Green wire is earth, by default the other wire would be positive.

Re: Regarding Tacho and wires
GC75,
I've found the easiest way to do that is to disconnect it from the gearbox and feed it through the firewall.
Connect it on then SLOWLY feed it back out when you put the dash back in.
After you have the dash in, DON'T FORGET to RECONNECT it.
10min job at most.
Cheers.

Re: EFi Set Up
Luifly,
If you plumb it correctly, No.
You plumb the fuel tank return off the surge tank and the fuel rail/ pressure regulator return to the surge tank, so as long as your low pressure lift pump can supply enough fuel, everything is good.
Cheers.

What material are Fuel Injectors made of?
Just trying to find out what normal fuel injector internals are made from. Steel or Stainless steel? The reason is because I am water injecting the engines I'm building and I would like to properly control the water flow. I already have the pumps and the standard water injection nozels but it's not ...

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
You would need about a 135mm stroke.
It is possible with a different crank, shorter rods, custom pistons and grinding the bottom of the bore so the rods and crank don't hit it.
In my opinion, the engine wouldn't rev well but if it was turbo'd, it would be good.
