Re: How do i wire an inbuilt regulator alternator
when i put my battery in my boot should i run the "sense" wire straight to the battery? so it sees proper battery voltage or whatever? could i leave the old sense wire still attached or disconnect it?? also is there a part number for the 2 pin alternator plug? would i even be able to get ...

Re: LC hatch tacho wire
is the tacho wire connected to any other wire on the coil? or does it go straight to the tacho with the only connection being at the coil? im reading 60 ohms of resistance between what i think is the tacho wire and the black/white dizzy wire.... cheers, rob edit: http://i50.tinypic.com/x3y22w.jpg D...

Re: LC hatch tacho wire
One wire is 12 volts with the ignition ON, this drops to 0 volts whilst in the 'start' position. This originally went to the ballast resistor. The second wire is 12 volts when in the 'start' position. This wire went to the coil +ve (bypassing the ballast resistor). The third wire is the tacho wire. ...

Re: How do i wire an inbuilt regulator alternator
Righto. Assuming you have one of these http://www.exchangeautoparts.com.au/RXA202.jpg and you want to use one of these instead http://www.exchangeautoparts.com.au/RXA200.jpg Then do this. Unplug the regulator, unbolt it and throw it away (not really, keep it as a momento!). Cut the 4-pin plug off at...

Re: How do i wire an inbuilt regulator alternator
hmm... i know how to wire up an alternator... the main problem is with the regulator, how do we bypass the regulator and still have the ammeter in the dash work? IIRC the ammeter works by sensing the voltage drop across the main fusible link. So, what alternator and/or regulator should make SFA dif...

Re: How do i wire an inbuilt regulator alternator
How many terminals on the new alt? Are they labelled (D+, L, S, etc)? You need to work out which wire goes to the 'ALT' or 'CHG' lamp on the dash. This can be done with a test light (with a bulb in it!!) by disconnecting the regulator (driver's strut tower), turning the ignition ON, earth one side o...

Re: Crank Pulley removal on 4G54
The simplest is to put a breaker bar on the bolt and wind the starter over. Make sure the breaker bar isn't going to smash anything important as its flying around!! I generally try to rest the breaker bar on the chassis and then crank, if that doesn't work (too tight), then arrange the breaker bar t...

Braided Brake Line Failure
I was speaking to a mate of mine at Oran Park last weekend and he mentioned he had fitted the Maltech (or Brake Quip) braided lines. I told him that these lines are NOT suitable for motorsport use (and frankly I am not sure I would have them on my road car either). As it happens, a line arrived in t...

GH Sigma brakes work OK due to the Galant being a lot lighter - unless you are giving them a really hard time

I reckon it will bolt in OK, but as to whether to plugs/wiring are the same, not sure.
Probably just have to try it!
If the plugs look the same with the same colour wires in the same places, etc, then no reason why it shouldn't work.
