Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one

aha...good point Stealth! but I meant details on the car, not the run
Meh...do whatever you please, post or no post (for the car); on debut at top alcohol, that is bloody impressive.

I just wanted to point that out.

Re: lb 2.6 swap questions

I'm running an LC with a 2.6L, but don't quite know what the setup is under there. (Bought it as is) Thus proving it can be done! :P I think it's just a plain swap if you keep the gearbox. But...any tuning more than a d/d weber and you might as well kiss that gearbox goodbye. (don't think the diff w...

Re: Hey Fellow Lancer Nuts

I think you mean specifically '74's. (not '75's and '76's). And if that's the case, You may actually be right...the 2 doors came out after Chrysler bowed to public pressure (cheap bastards) to release the 2dr models seen at the Southern Cross rally. You know they could have gone for the SL-5, GSL or...

Re: 4G32 waterpump

Actually, just like the 4G54...there's a fair few 4G32's as well. (4G32 / 4G32b w.o balance shafts / 4G32b w balance shafts / 4G32b EFI / 4G32 EFI Turbo)...I'm not too sure this will suit our earlier model 4G32's anyway...certainly not the chain drive, or standard belt drive.

Re: Respraying a Sigma

Well, I was going to do it myself (before Kinglake disappeared off the map) as I'd basically shored up a massive shed with equally large space for an entire car, a whole bunch of drapes, and a nice large industrial compressor...something that won't run out of juice after 5mins of usage (an actual sp...

Re: my first (real) project :)

Oooh....I may call on you for a dizzy or two, mine are all looking a bit salvadore dali atm. As you said, there'll be enough torque down low, but eventually with the kind of torque from a 4G54, you will shit that gearbox. I wouldn't recommend running with the 4-speed permanently, but i...

Re: my first (real) project :)

I don't think that's true Dave... Item 83) ... ;) I think you'll find that the L-shape tail-lights came out the same time etc as the timing belt, and they are NOT specifically associated with the GSR model. You can also read through and see that they homologated both the KM119 AND the KM132 :) I can...

Well, if you add it to the 20/30 tonnes of scrap metal that used to be cars at my mates place, you'd probably get a reasonable 5c :D or...something similar to what larace said...hope you like! http://www.foamyfanatics.net/episodes/player.php?title=Hammers+And+Floodlights&file=hammers http://www....

Re: my first (real) project :)

Spot on...the KM132 5-speeds are the way to go for an astron (they don't like to fit in the older cars too well)...so we like the KM119's with our saturns and the corresponding (cheaper) 4.222 diffs! OUCH! that kinda incident can never be good for any car or driver. Did that end up an accident? I'm ...

Re: my first (real) project :)

There is nothing wrong with a saturn engine! Why is everyone obsessed with sticking a dirty great big anchortron into the front of a perfectly balanced car? Why screw with the simple engineering marvel that went into these 1970's cars? These early models are so well balanced, that if you were...

Oh no...you don't have some grandiose plans for an anchor in there... Please don't do that! Put a tiny bit of money into it, and you'll have a car that'll run forever. even clapped out old 1400 Saturns are capable of this: http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff308/Mr_Aerospace/Khanacross%20Beas...

Hey, COBWBS...My front guards survived untouched up at Kinglake, along with a few other bits and pieces that I'd put in the shed too.

Seeming I don't seem to have an LB to put this stuff in, you want 'em?

Well, I must admit it's definitely one hell of a lot different to most of the other cars around here.

Re: Front brakes

Ok, I'll give this a shot! 1. Remove the retaining pins again. (the two pins that go over the top of the brake pads) 2. The "K spring" (closest to your fingers) is placed over the inside pad. The clip part goes over the top, and the spring sits inside the pad. 3. Replace the retaining pins...

Mitsugalant: No...this is actually Larace's old race engine (there was a really good reason why she was called "The Beast"). What can't be seen is the spare 4sp that's sitting on the back seat. And, just by pot luck, I shifted this engine into the shed, and it's the only one that survived....
