Wouldn't that shorten the overall length of the rods and lower the compression slightly?

Re: N/A Weber exhaust size recommendations?

$750 for the extractors + 2 1/4" with straight through muffler, welded and fitted by Midas Tingalpa (brisbane) early-mid last year Of course now I would DIY fit it saving about $300 from that price, but it sounds good. Not that loud really since it still a muffled 4cyl. Only downside of it bein...

Re: LA lancer, whats a good diff upgrade? sigma?.?.?

I dont know how wide a scorpion diff is compared to a sigma (presumably the same if not very similar) but its definitely the way to go for strength and ease of fitting. The next step up from a scorpion diff is cutom fitting a huge 4wd diff or Ford 9" from a V8. (though I hear an old 2nd hand 9&...

Re: 2.6 Rebuild

They suited fine for the NA motor, but under boost I'd want the pistons to survive.
Going to start with low boost but noone can honestly say that will always be enough :P

2.6 Rebuild

I'm planning on doing a relatively basic rebuild on my old expired motor, before it sees some boost. It wont see an excess of 6,000rpm and I'll be trying my best to obtain peak power at or just below that. Balance shaft bearing (or something in there) is believed to have shattered and it now barely ...

Re: TP Crankshaft, is there any other model the same???

As far as I know, all 2.6L cranks are the same across the sigmas, scorps, tritons, pajeros etc.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

well i have everything out of the head including camshaft, but the sprocket wont come out.
i figured loosening the chain would get it off faster

also the sprocket doesnt go down enough for the chain to come off

Timing chain tensioner

Forgive me for making a new topic about this but my laptop (along with service manual) is gone.

I'm just trying to remove the head from my dead 2.6 and got stuck with the timing chain. Where do i find the tensioner and how do i loosen it?

I replaced the rear drivers window in my GJ when the weather strip part rusted out and snapped in half removed the winder handle, the arm rest and then bottom of the back seat to get to the bolts for the side of the back of the back seat (last bit probably not necessary in a GH) pretty much thats al...

I can vouch for ratios in saying that wideblock jap's, narrowblock japs, and the narrow 4spd borgy are all the same. also the M6 onwards had a slightly downward pointing inlet face, right? I'm fairly sure someone (I think Stealth, but my memory sucks) said they always use M4 heads with turbo and get equal if not better results than the later M7, but M7 is preferred for N/A setups. I noticed a while back you can bu...

So mr aussiblue, what do you suggest for something more extreme? rolled or not, the centre of my tyre hits the front bottom corner of the wheel arch, the back will hit the mudguard with a little more lock too, and the tyre outside edge sits flush with the outside of the arch when pointing straight. ...

Easier option is trying to obtain fibreglass quarter panels/boot.. will still save a lot of weight but not as much as doors I imagine. Just the way doors are made would be difficult to replicate in fibreglass (unless only the outter shell was steel, and removable.. but I assume not) Fibreglass bonne...

I think before me he said they've only ever supplied cams to 2 or 3 other sigmas ever, and each time Dean was the one who made them, his father Ian (who is Ivan in that article  ) didn't actually make any astron cams.

Re: Rolling the lip on the front guards.

larger diametre wheels overall + lowering springs to compensate will definitely bring the tyre closer to hitting the guards. The offset of the rim plays a large role too, even on thin ones.. the offset can cause the wheel to either come in and hit the shocks, or poke out and hit the guard I personal...
