Re: Queensland drives
Yeah that betting pool probably wasn't a good idea.. Considering we can see each others cars on this website and with all the same engines its pretty easy to tell whos gonna be faster by what they've done to it. Mid may sounds pretty good for a time so far. I'm hoping I'll be back on the road either...

What if I just said we have enough info already and stopped
seriously with the amount of stuff in the last few posts it'd crowd up the info to a point where its just as confusing as its always been

Re: 2.6L Astron Engine Differences
Doesn't bother me if its nitty gritty :P The whole idea is to collaborate all the information we can possibly gather for all 2.6L astrons ever made and sticky it That way noone will need to ask for info about factory configurations. If it needs to go as far as listing mitsubishi genuine part numbers...

Re: Recommend an engine builder (brisbane area)
Might I just add.. one who knows sigmas and does NOT charge 3 times more than average :P I spoke to a local builder here and he said it was something like $2840 for the most basic rebuild with all stock parts. I'm not sure what the going rate is exactly but it seemed a bit excessive considering ther...

Re: Queensland drives
Brilliant idea that is.. And if we wanted, could even do a private betting pool.. all put in $20-50 whatever then do the test and tune Compare time slips afterward and winner takes all Just an idea for a bit of fun :P Only problem is if 1 person shows up with efi turbo and the rest of us are all N/A...

2.6L Astron Engine Differences
I know this was (partly) covered on the old site but I think it should be collaborated together into ALL the noticable differences and then stickied or something like that.. I'll start with a little bit but I'm hoping we can build it up quickly enough, and please correct anything I got wrong.. Astro...

But thats where all the fun is meant to be..stealth wrote: and from experance welded cranks dont like more than 9 to 1 comp
no turbo no gas and no alcohol
Not worth it without a big charger to get it revving quickly, not for drags anyway
Would probably still be good for a streeter

180hp? our factory scorpions/sapporos were lucky to get 110hp, and I'm not sure if they ever did
110 = 81kw and I think that was the 1st gen magnas
astron 1 being 79kw factory I think
Haven't been to wiki in a while..

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
So that would be a combination of stroked and bored to reach ~2.95, yes? Because I've seen a few with standard stroke bored out to ~2.8 So its still possible to get some decent displacement figures.. even if 3.5 from a stroker isn't possible  I just love the thought of a 4cyl engine topping 3L

2.6 Cam profile
Could someone give me the factory specs of an astron 2.6 camshaft? Or even specs of an aftermarket one with the result of that profile. Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
In my opinion, the engine wouldn't rev well but if it was turbo'd, it would be good. Thats pretty much what I was thinking, would be good to increase the torque by about 30% straight up, but would need a bit of a push to get it revving. Considering turbos usually work better from higher rpm I'd say...

Re: my mmc galant
Now that's interesting..
Never seen a Sigma like it
But it says "Galant ∑" on the back and the steering wheel/guages look to be sigmaesque
Also front wheel drive too.. unless the engine is just a wee bit crooked
