Ge Sigma eng conversion
Ge Sigma eng conversion
Hi Guys
I have an 1978 Ge Sigma that im playing around with, i want to do an engine conversion 4g63 or similar in a budget of around $5,000 with me doing the work myself.. My Question to you guys is with that budget what is the best legal power productive choice??
Ive searched around on the site but with so many options its a bit confusing..Eg mixing and matching heads to Blocks etc
Regards
James

4G63 SOHC with Carby/ies
Oodles of Aftermarket goodies for these engines.......they are the same capactiy as the Astron 2000cc (which these cars came out with from factory) but they are significantly lighter (I've heard as much as about 40kg's)
AND....if ur lucky....it will bolt up to the gearbox you already have in the car

I currently have a 4g64 dohc engine for sale. Wideblock 2.4l with a DSM twin cam head freshly reco'd for 500.was going to boost it and put it in the lc but have gone a different direction. Even Na it would be a weapon. Food for thought
Re: Ge Sigma eng conversion
Be careful with this !
What you need to work out is what you want to achieve here
Yes there are many options for the 4g63 BUT it depends how you want to go about it
What 63 are you planning on ?

Re: Ge Sigma eng conversion
I think that's the original question now that I've reread it
What engine/gearbox combo is in the car now?

Hi guys
I'm going to start with the 4g64 Dohc that Taz has for sale in this thread... It's a wide block with a reco Lancer Dohc, my only concern is the 7 bolt crank shaft??

Cheers Stealth... Looking on ebay and the shift point is on the side on the triton box... So im looking at b2600 boxs at the moment...
Re: Ge Sigma eng conversion
I don't know what you are talking about, unless you are looking at a l300 box
The triton gbox is the best option you have
And you need the 7 bolt flywheel for it to work

At a guess......I'd say he's referring to the linkages used on these boxes

Yea my mistake I was looking at the L300 4G64 gearbox.. I'm thinking the triton will just have the shifter on top..
Re: Ge Sigma eng conversion

Sounds more like it
