I used to have a Fairlady 1500. It blew MGBs into the weeds. I took my mates little sister for a spin once and she reckoned it was more fun than the Mad Mouse :D (a roller coaster at the Adelaide show). Then, after a complete rebuild, some drunk drove into the back of it when it was parked :(
And be nice to my 120Y or I'll post a pic of her rear end

I am a fan of the 240z but if I was to go Datsun looking it would be for a very rare 200B SSS Coupe.

I think they look a bit like my Galant Coupe with a extra window.

My car club's full of em.... well, used to be. Most are scattered in pieces around various NSW forests now.

I infact compete in a rather clapped out 1600 (cringes, waiting for things to be thrown)

And i shouldn't stir the pot more but the absence of axle tramp in motokhanas/khanacrosses is a big plus.

And I'd cut certain parts of my anatomy off for a 2000 sports.

Me! I had a 1200 coupe with a worked L20B/TRX 5 speed/TRX diff for my first car. Only problem was, it had a habit of breaking traction on the very slippery roundabout near my school. Dad confiscated my keys and sold it on me
It stands as the best car I've ever owned, given that my forays into the world of the Mitsubishi have always been in clapped-out old bombs. Oh well, I've got my GJ to keep me entertained now
Cheers :D

I had a datsun 1200 coupe too.
A14 in mine imported rally 5 speed in it.
It was pretty quick in the early 90's, (slow by todays standards).
It had a habit of breaking things.
9 gearboxes (until I put the 5 speed in)
4 diffs
1 tailshaft uni
1 engine mount.

I remember DATSEZY.
Hot 4's car show.
Doing burnouts on the drive day.

It also won the burnouts at summernats didn't it?

I bought a '77 lancer hatchback after the datsun 1200 and was so impressed that it didn't break all the time.
I had 3 lancer hatchbacks and now 8 galants, I wouldn't go back.

Grandfather had a 240c (kinda like a Toyota crown 1970s)
Folks have a Patrol 3.0 turbo (2008)

For me I don't anticipate buying one, got enough on my plate.

the old man had a SSS Stanza which was pretty cool but didn't compare to his 510 (1600) Bluebird. The Japanese import 2 door version

was supposedly rare as rocking horse poo as he puts it. it is now sitting in a collectors shed.....

Yeah i've got a mate who imported one of those 2 door 510's from japan about a year or two ago. Scary thing he is actually making it a full track car. I think i'd still prefer a GTO MR twin cam over the datsuns with the independent rear.
