whitewall or paint letters

Post by SIKMA »

Just finished repolishing up my Passage GT wheels! I was planning to white wall them in the next couple days, however it just hit me that maybe painting the words on the tyres would be unique and also look good. Im running a set of Pirelli P6 tyres, Pirelli did participate in racing though. Opinions?

I've got P6s on the wagon (and my Eunos 800 daily) and I've thought about both of those options you mentioned but I reckon the lettering wouldn't suit as the font size is quite large and there's not actually much writing, ie doesn't go all the way around.
Also, there's a funny wavy ribbed pattern on the sidewall that might ruin the oldschool whitewall look.

I suppose you could try on the inside of one the wheels and see what it gives.

To me it would depend on the style of the car and how you intend driving it.

If it looks fast and you plan on practicing for Bathurst whenever you are behind the wheel then go the letters.

If it fairly standard looking or grandma spec, and you just want to cruise around then put whitewalls on it.
