I took an old Sigma wagon to the crusher once with a stuffed 265 engine block on the boot.

Does that count ! :D
I'm here for a good time, not a long time !

I remember seeing one for sale in Qld, many moons ago. It was before I ever got interested in Sigma's, but I though it was a good idea at the time.

It was a 265 auto and the engine had been set back quite a bit. Didnt see any in cab shots , but I recon the transmission tunnel would have been pretty big.

hey.

like said above there is a blue one in tassie that runs in the hill climbs. nice looking unit, major firewall and gear box tunnel mods. hardly any room left in the drivers foot well for the pedals.

What about a Jeep Cherokee motor? I have a Cherokee and it is basically a 4.0ltr version of the hemi and it is injected. You would have a much better chance of rego, with a smaller capacity and better emmisions.

Just a thought as i always wanted to put a jeep motor into a Centura as a daily.

They already had the centura so no real need. The centuras in frenchland actually came stock with a 1.4lt 4 cylinder.

The 265 is pretty damn long but you could get in it there but without chopping the firewall most of the motor would be way to far forward to still handle well.

did the centuras stop in 82 like the vals or did they keep going for a bit? the french centuras (simca) were lengthened to fit the 6 (to become a centura)though im pretty sure..

does mitsubishi have any straight sixes or is it just the 3l v6?

cheers,

6G34
The 6G34, referred to by Mitsubishi as the Saturn 6, is a 12-valve SOHC straight-6 of 2.0 L (1994 cc) displacement.

The 6G34 was used only in the Mitsubishi Debonair from 1970-1976, and saw very limited production. Effectively, the design was that of the standard Saturn four-cylinder block with two additional cylinders grafted on.

thats the only mitsubishi straight 6 i could find.... astron 6 would be better though...

nah the bloke that built it was Bob Campbell, he died a few years back

The engine was in the car backwards and running through a modified VW trans axle, it had webbers that were right next to the drivers shoulder and the gear stick was mounted to the side of the block

It was an amazing bit of engineering
