Hey, in that first pic, was that the motor I gave you in the boot?

That was a champion effort - only beaten by the guy who bought a shortened Pintara LSD diff from me and fitted it into his LB Lancer in the cabin.
Cars: 2009 Hyundai i30 (daily/driver training car), 2001 Saab 9-5 Aero (project), 1977 GD Galant (rally car)

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"

That is a sad end.......is the shell very warped, could you build a Khanacross car out of it?
Were you able to salvage anything off it?
'75 GC daily (slowly dying)
'80 LC 2.6L rally car (generally something broken until 2 weeks before an event)
'71 GA 2.6 Turbo project (i only wanted the diff and got another project)

Mitsugalant: No...this is actually Larace's old race engine (there was a really good reason why she was called "The Beast"). What can't be seen is the spare 4sp that's sitting on the back seat. And, just by pot luck, I shifted this engine into the shed, and it's the only one that survived.

Rally_2.6LC: When steel girders on trucks and sheds bend, cars door glass passes through the bottom vents of a door, and alloy puddles can physically burn through steel panels, then there is very little that can be done to save what's that badly damaged.

Also, the picture from the rear shows how badly warped the car got...it was dead straight before the fire...and you can see that the roof is warped, the boot is completely warped and that rear left door isn't open.

I can only hope for a few bits and pieces out of the engine bay!

Boyracer: Well you've still got yours...they can still eventually go again, this one can't!

Oh...I've got a few more images, so I thought I'd add a couple more to go with this tribute.

and the great action sequence, showing just how badly I needed grip...
plus...it was the only car (apart from the WRX) capable of driving over that ditch without bottoming out or breaking the drivetrain (a MkII 2.0L Escort did it on the first attempt)

Oh...and proof of the radiator issues (That water went off with a bang after one too many goes! ...and the dust didn't help issues either  )
