Spray heaps of release agent on there and let it soak for a while, 10min minimum.
Make sure you do this before removing the manifold from the head, jack the car up, chuck some jack stands under it, wriggle under there with a ratchet, socket and a heap of extention bars and swing off it, lol.
They do hold on pretty tight and I have seen exhaust shops do them up with rattle guns so they can be bloody hard to take off.
Hey the worst that can happen is you brake a stud and UPI has about 20 sigmas so a replacement manifold is only $15 away :P

Good luck

cheers jason, assumed it would be something like that but coming from a family where mechanical experience is limited to driving it to a shop no stands or ramps are available haha.

hopefully getting a set off a mate, will it be ok to run the car without the air return pipe thing attached to the manifold just to drive up onto them?

probably should have asked this question before i started as all that is disconnected and off the car haha.

Assuming your talking about the flexi pipe the sits on the exhaust manifold and goes up to the air cleaner? Yeah that's not needed lol.
-It's only there for cold starts, after that it is cut off.

As for those bolts... They are a prick! Good luck with it
-A good part about extractors is they don't have a gasket there
