Yep. I did it a couple of years ago. You need to use the diff out of a GH Scorp, they are the stronger 10 bolt setup, but have all the correct mountings to suit a GH Sigma. Only change suspension wise is that you need to use the upper control arms out of the Scorp.
The brake hose to the body is a slightly different length, so I used the Scorp one, along with the Scorp handbrake cable.
Trickiest part is the tailshaft flange. The Sigma one won't fit, and the Scorp one uses different universal joints then the Sigma. I discovered that a Galant flange uses the same universal joints as the Sigma, but is designed to suit a jap diff, so you can fit the Galant flange onto the Sigma tailshaft, which will then bolt up to the diff.
Could be done in less then a day if you have all the parts ready to go.

Re: scorpion diff into gh can it be done
You will need:
1. the Scorpion handbrake cables
2. the Scorpion diff including all the arms.
3. the Scorpion tailshaft.
There are 3 issues.
1. the Diff needs to be out of a GE or GH Scorpion.
2. the tailshft flange (that connects the tailshaft to the diff) may be different.
3. the tailshaft yoke (that connects the tailshaft to the gearbox) may be different.
This is where it gets a bit tricky.
What I kneed to know:
1. Wide block or narrow block
2. BW or Jap gearbox.
Cheers..

Yes.. All Sigma wagon diffs are based on the GE-GH diffs.Scorpma82 wrote:Do the exact same rules and results apply to a sigma wagon??????

Narrow block 2.6, narrow jap 5 speed will be the engine and box

So if I get a GH scorpion diff, it will bolt into every model sigma wagon?

You have 2 options.2Lgalant wrote:Narrow block 2.6, narrow jap 5 speed will be the engine and box
1.

Re-drill the existing flange (not recommended). It has to be done accurately or else you will have one hell of a vibration.
Yes. The only issue is the shock mount rubbers, which I just used the Scorpion ones in the sigma wagon shock absorbers.Scorpma82 wrote:So if I get a GH scorpion diff, it will bolt into every model sigma wagon?

Re: scorpion diff into gh can it be done
Yeah ill just change the flange to a galant one
Now the hunt is on for a cheap gh scorpion diff

The later model GJ onwards Scorpions are also 10 bolt diffs yes?????
Can you use those models for the wagon or is it strictly GH only?

Possibly, but it would be a lot more work.
The springs sit on top of the diff so there are extra brackets for them, the shock mounts are different, and possibly the suspension arm mounts too. It has been done though.
