Under my coupes bum

Post by A112H »

Okay, so this week I am looking at diff's.
How much wider is a Scorpion disc brake diff than a GC diff??
Is it worth changing to the Scorpion sus set up??
I am seriously thinking about IRS. I am pretty sure a Pulsar GTiR or Mazda MX5 rear ends will fit width wise but it would be a hassle to fit, but worth it in the long run handling wise.
I have a hydraulic hand brake so need to go disc brake rear end and I am open to any ideas/ thought/ pics.

Cheers

How about datsun 1600 set up.
Easy to get bits for and to beef up, should be similar width too.
My mate has nissan GTR rear disks on his 1600.

Im keen on doing a Starion IRS swap oneday, Have all the parts waiting, But i would not recommend the datto 1600 IRS, It would be a step backwards, its a very bad design with the semi trailing arms.

oh i like Panda's Starion suggestion!!

Also have a look at the latest ZOOM mag
(the one with the RIPS Red 260Z, which by the way is Bullshit crazy!)

In the mag Mad Dat are discussing fitting a Silvia S14 IRS into a Datto 1200 Ute!!

Fitted for $4,500 isnt on the cheap side but...

What is it you want to do with your Coupe?

Daily driver, Sunday driver, show car??
