Can anyone tell me what the recommended torque settings are for the sump bolts?

667 foot pounds
69 vf valiant coupe 225 efi turbo

my torque wrench only goes to 260 ftlbs so i did that. i must have had dodgey bolts cos i snapped the heads off two of them and might go to plan B.

Plan B - Can i make a gasket using chemi weld?

Probably should do them to 700, just to be sure, youd look like a real dick if your sump fell off.

Unless my service manual is incorrect it says between 7.5 and 8.5 foot pounds.

i was gonna say 755 karl but didnt want to look like a dickhead, and should always use antiseize to

Thanks superscan. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

I ran the grinder over the lip too so it should be nice and flat too.

funny you should say that as we had to either fit a catch can or an expansion tube to the case breather and a locking dipstick on our power glide so fluid wont end up on the track in the event that it may boil
