I swapped the rear view mirror in my GD from one out of a scorpion- much wider, matched the interior colour and had the night glare reduction. Easy mod, cheap and works brilliantly. Had an LB hatch, can post pics (now) of full on interior retrim of seats and door skins. Liked the hatches a lot, you've done well to find donors. And that del' and matching manifold is pure art!

I got the whole setup for $200. I just need to re-jet it to suit the 2.0L engine in the LC. The carbie is a Dell'Orto DHLA 40. The manifold is a Lynx M154. Not sure about the jet sizes that are in it at the moment, but it came off an Alfa 2.0L as a twin set.

Decided to check the fit of the new manifold + carbie in the Lancer. It looks like it'll fit, but will be a tight one.

That is cutting it real fine in the space department. I'm not sure if I'd want to run it- was it set up for a siggie? It would be a shame if it won't go in the way you hoped...

The photo is a little deceptive because of the angle. There is plenty of room to have the filter attached, and even some room to have a small pair of ram tubes too. When I say plenty of room, I mean around 10-15mm. I want to change the filter over to a Ram-Flo eventually which is not as tall as the current filter. The setup was last in a 2.0L Sigma Wagon.

Definitely interested. Might have to think about it since I am still trying to get my real 'Celeste' running. If it was an LC, it would be an instant buy.

Man, you've taken on "alot" of rust .... I'm feeling much better about mine now

There is a bit of rust in the LC, even seeing it for the first time put me off it a little. But after looking at it as a whole, everything else is in excelent condition. I do have rust and minor scratches to fix, but I am yet to find any sized dent in the whole body.

For the door trim, as well as the seats, if I can't find good trim, I'm going to get some vinyl to match, and use that.

I may be able to sell the spare indicators, will need to look though all the parts first to male sure I don't sell anything I need.

Bought a better gear stick knob for the Lancer. Really suits the car.

After a near defect for the GN (bald tyre, not engine ), I thought I'd do some research on the aussie standards for side mirrors. I was looking at this since I want to put on fender mirrors, and don't want problems from it.

Here is the relevant ADR :

Some parts that looks good for it is in 14.2.3.1.2 :

...The mirror shall not be obscured by the unwiped portion of the windscreen,...

The only way a mirror would be seen though the windscreen, and not a side window, is if they were mounted on the fender.

The problem comes at the end of the above sentence:

...and shall be adjustable from the driver's seated position...

It would be ok if I had longer arms, or converted, at minimum, the driver's side mirror to electric adjustment. Then again, it doesn't say that the driver's own hand has to adjust the mirror.

From what I can tell, I think they are like that from factory. Will have to check out the other cluster I have to see if it is the same. Either way, I might replace the lights with green LEDs to keep the same look, but have an excuse to use LEDs.

yeh theyre like that factory. mine have that mad glow.

imo the lancer dash cluster is probably one of the best dash clusters ever

My rocker cover is starting to look good, thanks to 84GKSIG . Just need to clean up everything else below it. Once finished, hopefully it'll be as good as a rocket cover.

Black ripple finish paint. Looks great, used this stuff a couple of times (next time do remember to mask up the filler inlet, threaded studs and mounting holes!) Maybe replace the cover bolts with hex keys or give the originals a buff with a wire wheel...

An EVOX engine would be awesome in it. I would be too afraid to drive it though. Currently with the Astron 80 running ok, it was spinning it's wheels from stand still in 2nd.

I used to get mine booting with the 1.6- must be stacks of fun with the 2L up front!

yeh the 1.6 pulls ahrd and its got barely any power. im considering putting an anchortron in mine to see how it goes
