Also just found out on fb.
What a blast from the past; going to be honest, kinda prefer these old forum layouts over social media.... way better.
Good to see all the old info still here too!

Re: 4g63 gearbox options
Some interesting information there to think about. Staying with the current narrow block would be convenient; if it is as easy as getting an adapter made to suit either pattern. Or would it be more common to see a used one to suit a wide block? Only other thought I've also had was with finding a fly...

Re: 4g63 gearbox options
Taz - The hilux diff option sounds interesting? what model hilux is it from? 2wd / 4wd? The R154 box, is that the W58 that seems to pop up every where? Do recall hearing about the RX7 option a while ago now that you mention it; I would imagine they would be harder to find these days rather compared ...

4g63 gearbox options
Hey all. Been a while (was wondering if i should post a new introduction...). Wondering what gear box would be recommended to put behind a 4g63t in a galant? Im looking at having an engine built so I've got the choice of wide / narrow; plan to choose that depending on what has the better gearbox opt...

Re: 1979 Colt Sigma from the cold north
Neat looking GE. As you have no tail lights or dash lights; get someone to switch the head lights on and off for you, while they are doing that have a look and listen in the engine bay for the headlight relay that should be clicking on and off. -The relay has 2 poles, one circuit switches head light...

Re: Anyone used a 4G93T or P DOHC?
Undecided at this point. I'm wanting to; would make for a fun car once it is all in there.
Still measuring up all the little bits and pieces. Apart from a gearbox, the rest of it doesn't look like too much of an issue.

Re: Anyone used a 4G93T or P DOHC?
Arh that's interesting.
I've got a newer model 4G94 here from a CH Lancer (same bell housing as the CE).
They are Very different from the astron bell housings: Will be a bit of work to make it fit under a galant/sigma etc.

Re: Anyone used a 4G93T or P DOHC?
Does anybody have any other reasons not to use the 93 other than 'the 63 is better' in comparison Gearbox. I've been doing quite a bit of research to find out if I can fit a 4G9X in to a galant. The biggest head ache I've come up against is the drive train. There is nothing you can buy that will bo...

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
The Multimeter didn't have a reading at all. I then tried a new cable from the negative side of the battery to the body of the Starter - no change Technically you did find something out, no real reading on the multi-meter means that section is not at fault  & you have got it working b...

As above, do you have an after market temp gauge? -Be good to know some numbers Also, what fans are fitted at the moment? If your only running an electric fan at the front, is the radiator & a/c unit ducted around the edges? to help duct the air through the radiator? -If you have the standard fa...

Take a photo and post it up Shuggy.
This is an on going issue for you isn't it?
& is this on the engine you've had rebuilt? (would assume new water pump & Thermo stat?)

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
Probably a bit late to be of use? May help others later on though. If you suspect you have an issue with the negative/ground/earth/(what ever) for the starter motor, get a volt meter, & attach the positive lead to the body of the starter motor (at the starter motor, not the block, inlet manifold...

Diagrams, nope. Found a carb from a manual astron 2 (think it may of been from a late scorp?), should be pretty similar to the ones used on the Magna. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh62/niknikthegreat777/IMAG0204_zpsdee4e7d1.jpg The wax pallet is the thing in the middle more or less, with the t...

Re: Magna problems
 What Dave said... Wax block, they would be talking about the wax pallet that operates the choke I would be guessing. It has coolant running through to operate it (the wax changes with temp). If the coolant is leaking out before the wax pallet, it will not operate it to turn the choke off once ...

Hey mate,
Your old set up was not points, just the older style of electronic ignition.
What is the new distributor out of? The GN? How many wires does it have coming out of it?
Nick.

Pretty unlikely you will be able to find out the 'perfect' combination of parts for your set up. How ever, if you are only after a ballpark figure to start with & see how it goes, then send these guys an email http://www.dellorto.co.uk/ they deal mainly with Dellorto's but do stock all weber par...

Where did you take it
Could be a few things, Does it feel unwilling to rev past 4000rpm (in like 2nd or 3rd?)
More or less what Geezer said though.
Can have a look at it if you like?

Re: Sigma Radiator
How much? You would have to ask around your local repair places to see how much they will charge.
Had mine done a few years back for around $100.00
I'd be careful what you find at the wreckers, most I've seen their are pretty stuffed.

At one point I got the car running but it only ran on nr 1-2-3 sylinder How long did it run for? If it ran for a small period of time, probably haven't got enough advance in the timing: Whether that is due to rotating the distributor more or you are a tooth out is for you to find out  -If...
