Re: Weird oil smoke problem.
Could it be a blocked pcv valve. I have a MK triton with a 4g64 that has a similar intermittent problem that my research indicates is most likely a gummed up pcv.

Re: Galant sedan inner rear pillar covers
If they were for the hardtop, I would probable take two sets.
$100 per set would be an acceptable price for me depending on fit and finish.
My GD parts list gives different part numbers for the sedan and hardtop so I would not be interested if they only fit the sedan.

Re: G63B sohc head questions
I just checked the starion head and it looks exactly the same as yours. I had to remove the blanking plate for the fuel pump and the rectangular cut out is there. I also checked two heads I have for G62b engines and they are the same with the exception of one which has a round fuel pump cut out (eng...

The wiring to the sound system should be connected via a relay into your accessories circuit, not your ignition circuit. You will cook your coil if you leave it as is.

According to the 1976 GD Parts List section 13 page 3 the rear bumper bar - sedan and hardtop are exactly the same!!!
The drivers side rear window I can't help with but it is part number MB036306 "Rear quarter window R.H.".

Re: Galant Restore Help!!!!
If you want to restore the existing badge, do a google search for "ALDAX". They supply moulding and casting products and have a on-line shop. They have a casting resin called crystal clear (I think) and also have the transparent pigments to colour it. I was going to try it to cast some lig...

Re: gd galant steering
I had a VR4 in my GC hardtop. I wasn't happy with the install and removed it. I know of one galant with modified steering however if I was to re-install the VR4 in the hardtop, I would use the front thermostat relocation kit that is supplied by Jay Racing in the USA. I would also use a front mount c...

Re: random problem when driving my galant
i dont know about this part There should be a very fine metal mesh filter in the fuel inlet at the carburettor. To get to it you need to remove the top of the carburettor and the float. The filter is under the needle and seat. The filter will collect very fine sediment that can pass through the nor...

Don't forget to check the metal mesh filter at the carburetor fuel inlet. Had a similar problem years ago.

Not likely, the next four months are traditionally my busiest period with work. Just realised that you are able to vote once each day for the video section as well as once each day for the photo section. Not sure if the terms and conditions allow for this but the mitsubishi voting page allows it.

My intention is to use the original carb with the G62B as it was purchased as a running engine (low compression in No 3). Re: Decrepit's 75 Hardtop
The VR4 came out because; 1 It was fitted approximately 50mm too far forward on custom mounts so that the themostat could clear the firewall. 2 Because the engine was forward, the track rod fouled the bell housing so this was cut away so that the steering could work. 3 Because the engine was mounted...

I bought a "A2612" 5 speed mount for the Galant hardtop a couple of months ago. Ordered it online and had it delivered to my door in less than a week. Price was good and postage reasonable - all up was cheaper than local suppliers price (They couldn't find one anyway). Link follows: http:/...

Re: Brakes completely locking up and boiling?
Had the exact same problem a couple of years ago.
It was the master cylinder sticking and not releasing (the car would stop by itself and not go till I released the pressure build up by cracking the bleeder).
Either put a kit through it or swap it for a known good one from another car.

Conrod Bearings - 4B1136 for both
Main Bearings - 5M1137 for both

Re: Bought a GC wagon
Hi all, I had integrated air con fitted to my GD wagon back in 1977. It cost $650.00 at the time (car only cost $5,185.00) and was fitted by a mob called "Galaxy Sounds" in Maitland. The system was manufactured by "Unicla". The compressor bracket had to be custom made for the 4g3...

The manual GD wagon I bought new in August 1976 did not have a brake booster fitted.
Of the numerous galants I have subsequently owned, only a 77 GD wagon and the hardtops have been fitted with boosters.
