Re: Was there a factory made 2.6T?
I imagine the police ones probably had a different jet or whatever in the carb and a bit more boost/better exhaust. Would have given them a easy 10kw over standard turbos which back then would have been a pretty big deal.

Re: brake drum wheel cylinder
Brake fluid absorbs water over time, once it cant absorb any more water you end up with water in your brakes and the pistons start rusting causing them to jam. Sometimes you can use some very fine sandpaper to smooth off the rusty bits and grooves that end up in pistons so that they will seal up and...

Re: What Head gasket you using???
No one asked yet so i figure i will.
Have you had your head machined??? If the head aint flat then no fancy headgasket will help
I just use the the $25 ones.... monotorque i think. Works fine on my turbo

Re: 3 Galant leaf springs?
Just go to a spring place and tell them what you want.... let them do the rest. That's basically what I did. If you do that then just take the springs to them its all pretty cheap too.... my setup cost maybe 2-3 hundred...and i had to go back once to get some stuff changed...

Gc has the valiant type cool looking front end like a VJ valiant/charger combined with the japanese RX3 style tailights...the best mix of aussie/jap style.
GD's are too japanese looking for my tastes.

Sigma only has a four link with the top links pointing inwards to control lateral movement of the diff....so there is a fair bit of room for improvement on those too!
Remember, a sigma is just the next model galant but uglier and heavier ahahha

Re: your favorite thing about your car?
I like grabbing second, having the front lift, rear end squat and then light the tyres while going f*cking whoosh past other cars :) Super dorifto with the locked scorp rear and the simple fact that the car is a bit of handfull to drive and does only what you tell it. If you end up facing the wrong ...

Re: 3 Galant leaf springs?
Yea its a start, but if you want to really turn corners you need some lateral location of the diff through a panhard rod/watts link an likely a two link to eliminate tramp. That said alot has to do with how much tyre and how much power your running, big tyre/power will benefit the most from panahrd ...

Re: 3 Galant leaf springs?
Go to a leaf spring place and tell them what you want. I have custom wagon springs with a 3/4 main leaf, fronts eyes re rolled to the centre an rear eyes reversed. Combined with a panhard rod and 2 link it handles pretty nice now, but seriously, if your expecting miracles from just adding or removin...

Re: Scorpion OR GB Galant
Scorp will be easier and a better car to drive, better front end and rear end and brakes to begin with.
Or buy a scorp an the gb an put all the scorp stuff in the gb(front end, diff/box) then do conversion, lots more work but way cooler
But really the sensible option is the scorp.

I edited the post because I don't want misleading information on here. This section of the forum is for old school rwd galants. We give no care for FWD lol. Just to show I'm not biased I have owned a HJ Galant previously. FWD cars have sooooo many cheap and available wheel choices... our rwd galants...

Dont forget the m9 that has the kidney shaped combustion chambers. You will also find that often certain model magnas dont have the proper cycling head they are supposed to because they have had reco's before. Just because its a TR dosnt mean it will have a m6. Worth noting that magnas like to crack...

I have one as a lift pump i bought years ago then stopped using it because it was rediculously loud(louder then engine), they told me it was becuase i mounted it in engine bay it was so loud...well now its in the boot two feet from the tank an it sounds like a jack...

Roll centre is about at the centre axle line, so actually not really different to what it was prior to the panhard rod being installed, Its as high as it can possibly be using this layout. Handling and rear end grip is crazy good. The acceleration available mid corner and on exit is crazy good. Just...

Re: Guard rolling
Well its more the fact that your sigma has a few years on it an using one of those guard rolling tools is rather likely to crack your paint anyway... They are good for new stuff as the paint wont be a as old and the panels are much thinner so bend with less force, older stuff they are a bit hit and ...

Re: Galant Panhard rod Install
Yea the bar angle is steep, but that lets me run a much longer bar. Longer bar means the sideways movement total is reduced. Problem is lack of space, if the bar angle was better, it would have to sit way too low an would give me a roll centre much too low, would also need to be a much shorter bar s...

My fab skills aint good enough to go round making brackets
Bracket is just some square steel basically with a corner cut off to allow extra travel for the spring and holes drilled through for the panahard rod to bolt to.

This may belong in the suspension section, but it only applies to galants and lancers so I put it here. Those wheels have nothing to do with a Matiz... would be very lucky to fit them on a matiz due to the width anyways... If your buying new wheels why on earth would you buy +40 offset?? Spacers are illegal for road anyways... For a 6" rim you need around a 20-25+ offset sigma turbo wherrits are ...

NO RIM that suits a matiz will suit a galant. Just cos the PCD is the same dosnt mean it should be on the list.
Any rim with a offset greater than about +30 to +35 is a massive no go on any sigma or galant.
