Re: insurance
The 2 GL Scorps are about 130ish dollars each. The magna is slightly less even tho I'd consider it more risky with its torquey V6 and wrong wheel drive. All those are 3rd party only. I think I got quoted as much as 500 for 3rd/Fire/Theft for my original GL when I was living in Scarborough in Perth, ...

Re: 2.6 Astron to replace 2.0 Astron in my GH
Plenty of bits and pieces you can change while its out that will be easier than once it's installed.
I'd be doing all the belts, hoses, thermostat, filters, etc
May as well delete the balance shafts, and if it's condition is unknown whack a new timing chain on it.

Re: ENDLSS back on the road after a long rebuild
If you have the persons details, send a letter of demand via registered post to the person (not their insurance) stating that they have 14days to pay for the damages or you will commence legal action. If they're stupid, and you're not asking for a ridiculous amount of money, they'll pay it, or get o...

Re: Mitsubishi sigma gh project Recommended Carbys
If you're looking for an easy option, there's a fella on Ebay that sells the Webber carb all set up and ready to just hook up to a sigma as a kit. I have a feeling linkages are all set up too. Otherwise you can do like me and get the carb for stuff-all from a wrecker, and look at it on the shelf eve...

It's not worth thrashing it around a track, bloody automatics.... Maybe next time I can give mine a go out there instead

Re: MX6 injection manifold on 4g54?
May be a bit of confusion here regarding Mazda/Ford stuff and Astron motors. 87-89 Mazda licensed (not sure if they built or bought) the 4G54 from Mitsubishi to use in their B2600 / Bravo and in Australia the Ford Courier which they refered to as the G54. From '89 on they switched over to their own ...

Re: the Sapporo is alive! (after nearly going to the crusher!)
Just out of curiosity, how was it working with one of them scissor lifts?
I'm thinking of getting one for the buildup of my scorpion and I don't have the head room for a real hoist, and the perseverance to dig a pit..

Re: Hopper stoppers brake upgrade
Yeah i'm wondering the same... would a decent pair of pads and rotors in the back of a scorp be ok with these front upgrades, or would all the proportioning be out of whack.... What are you guys using on the back? Easiest just to stick a borgy diff in with falcon/commodore disk brakes? Otherwise the...

Re: 4G54 to RX7 gearbox without fabrication??
Well, home thursday, hopefull the 5speed has enough life left in her to get from Edwardstown (workshop it's sitting at) up to my new place, otherwise I'll get some value out of my RAA membership ;) Not intending to big note myself, but I'm cashed up, have a new shed to play in, and the Mrs and I bot...

Re: Hopper stoppers brake upgrade
I can't commit to purchasing your upgrade, I started researching this 24 hours ago, but I am not afraid at all of spending cash, only afraid of buying something I don't need. I think I'll stick the above mentioned rotors and pads on the missus scorpion, see how they feel, and watch with interest wha...

Yeah mate thats the one, saves visiting a Mazda wrecker and a Mitsubishi one, and possibly a Ford one!! Re: 4G54 to RX7 gearbox without fabrication??
Well Ebay tells me that a low KM jap import RX7 turbo gearbox (from an FD) will set me back around $500. A bit of a poke through some Mazda boards leads me to beleive the boxes are good for a few more horsepower than a Jap 5speed. So, if I can stick a decent Mazda box in, recycling the clutch that I...

Re: SA Cruise's - Suggestion's Please
I'm keen to join a cruise, or just catch up for a chat some time with you guys. I've got a pair of '84 Scorpions (well one is for the missus) and just grabbed an (ashamed to say it) Magna. Hers goes alright, not sure if whoever the enthusiast who owned it before is a member here or not. Mine was a 1...

4G54 to RX7 gearbox without fabrication??
Just been doing a little research for on of my scorpions (which needs a new Jap 5speed desperately) and come across some interesting info out of the states... According to the transmission section of "Project Zero G" an RX7 gearbox can be mated up to a 4G63 wideblock using the bellhousing ...

If you're ever a bit naughty and cop a defect sticker, things that slid through in the original rego inspection might be picked up in the defect inspection....

Re: Was there a factory made 2.6T?
My grandfather had what I beleive to have been a 2.6 turbo as a trial police vehicle.
He wasn't exactly a fan of it..... I beleive he even threatened to stand outside mitsubishi and defect them as they came off the line if they went into production.
