Re: BLOWN SEALED BEAM HEADLIGHT
I don't really want to get into a bitch session but has anyone seen a semi sealed for a GA? Guys are swapping their whole front ends because they can't get a good replacement. Which is a shame for something that should be trivial. And we've all seen it when someone jams a different type of headlight...

Re: exhaust went wrong
How to make yourself popular and make new friends. I do not suggest you do this but when I was younger ( a lot freakin' younger ) I helped build a set of pipes out of the scraps from the local midas bin with my cousin. It was like playing tetris with muffler pipe. He ended up with a very ugly set of...

Re: exhaust went wrong
Hi dude. If it's a keeper- spend coin. Especially if you're fitting up extractors. Hunt around for a exhaust specialist with a good reputation. I wouldn't normally endorse any particular workshop but put the word out in your end of the world, see what other guys have to say. And cost doesn't always ...

Re: Why did you buy a Sigma, Galant or Lancer?
I didn't buy my first Galant, it was donated to (read dumped ) on my brother by my best mate. GD wagon, GL. Was a PIG! The interior was shot, no straight panels on it and full of rust. Saturn 1600 with borg auto, both were dead. The bro had terminated his Scorpion on a power pole (left chassis rail ...

Re: L200 front end
My personal choice is the GD- wagon! Was the first car I'd built from the ground up. Nothing radical, I used literally anything I could strip off my brother's Scorpion. Bang on a budget. I'd do it again if I didn't have other priorities. Ticked all the right boxes for me.

L200 front end
Been wondering this for a while. Do the front end panels of the L200 utility fit the GC/GD galant? They look like they share similar chassis dimensions. Thought I'd seen a wagon set up like this in adelaide...

Looks like a trip to a suspension specialist. You don't want to be in a car that dances on the highway and get hit with wet weather. It would be a death sentence. Take it easy, get it sorted asap. Be a shame to see your ride being swept onto the back of a flat bed...

BLOWN SEALED BEAM HEADLIGHT
If you've ever blown a sealed beam headlight and your only options are to replace it with another blown one from a wrecker or from OS by auctioning off an organ, I feel your pain. I converted a sealed beam to H4 on my wife's honda elite scooter but this will work on any sealed headlight. You'll need...

Re: The WRC is bullshit the Acropolis Rally is a joke
Mitsubishi chose not to sponsor a team car so they could focus on other projects, maybe origami or making air conditioners... they either got bored with flogging their competition or wanted to win fair and square without these BULLSHIT TACTICS!

I personally wouldn't go past 17's. It'll mess up your et's and replacing tyres will start to look like mortgage repayments... Had my eye on a set of black advanti tenzo's with a red rim lip- they went from 15x6.5 to 18x7. thought the price was fair too.

Re: New to Sigmas
My brother-in-law is into Colts. He used to have a really awesome RA that he spent a lot of money on. He had a heap of internal engine work done to it and Koni suspension, for a fwd it actually wasn't to bad? The Recaro's he had in it now live in my wagon. The best thing about Colts is the twin gea...

Looks like it's coming together nicely (and no, I'm not going to comment on the pic quality). But if you're going to do spraying in the future, use newspaper or plain brown paper for masking up- it will help cut down overspray and won't flake everywhere when you peel it off. Keeping the doors fitted...

Yeah, I know this site's about siggies and gals but the colt does have potential. I've been sitting on my RB hatch for ages . Spent too much on it to just to ditch it but it needs a stack of TLC and coin to get her online again. Cordia turbo brakes, seats, front suspension, power steering. A tonne o...

They were GC/GD doors. I was just starting out on my first gal build when I got burnt by an unscrupulous wrecker (a scum bag) that was having a shutting up shop fire sale.

Re: GH PWS Tacho won't count past 4000rpm and not smooth
Sorry 'bout that. Read it as 'engine not running smootly past 4k' not the tacho. Doubt it's the screen printed board in the instrument panel, generally the either do work or don't. Holden LD astras suffer from a similar problem. Circuit boards printed on plastic film are crap, no place for them in a...

Re: GH PWS Tacho won't count past 4000rpm and not smooth
Do the usual stuff, check your ignition- distributor timing, dwell angle, leads etc. If it's all within acceptable limits head for the carby next. If the vacuum actuator has a split diaphragm, not only will your secondaries fail to crack open properly, the air being sucked in will screw up the way y...

Re: MY 72 GA G-LANT BUILD :)
Sounds like a good stocker! GC-GD's are a better basis for modding. More space in the engine bay, and wagon's get even better with bigger rear brakes and thicker front stabiliser bar. The integral chassis rails have all the gearbox crossmember mounting holes set up with threaded inserts which opens ...

Has it got a tacho in the dash? Base model had a blank panel in the instrument cluster, then there was the option of a clock (have a feeling fitted to auto's) or a tacho for manual trans.

Re: MY 72 GA G-LANT BUILD :)
You'll get an upsize on your rear brakes too with the wagon diff swap. Use the rear springs as well- it'll stiffen up the ride. I used a set of wagon leaf springs in my LB lancer hatch. It did jack the rear up a bit but the improvement in handling was well worth it. Take all the 'u' shackles and bot...

Re: Interchangable parts GD on to GA
I doubt the gutter trim will fit. The doors on the wagons have a steeper rake angle than it's sedan siblings, so the 'a' pillar will also have a different shape as well. Ages ago I got my hands on some pristine front doors to replace the cancer riddled doors on my old wagon only to find the window f...

Hi dude, I'll take a stab at diagnosing your malfunctioung gauge problem. First, does the gauge move at all after driving? It's basically a voltage gauge so it'll read whatever power is passing through it. I'd be looking at replacing the sender unit. And it operates independently from the thermo fan...

I owned a LB Lancer hatch and fitted up a jap 5 spd. I swapped the extension housing from the original 4 spd with the 5 spd and bolted the sucker straight in- no hatchet work required! The gearbox crossmember mount wasn't that simple- I turned the holes in the mount into slots to accomodate the wide...
