Im pretty sure we have ordered the right part now and it should be arriving to...

I dont know if this site is registered as a car club, but if it is, you can organise hill climbs and time trials etc. Get the road temporarily closed for the event

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
Oh ok, so the part that I bought isnt the one I need?
Theres really heavy rain outside, so unfortunately I cannot take the old one off. I got soaked just holding the part I just bought up the the broken one under the car and it didnt look right, however that was with the rubber casing over the top.

Re: Cottees' 1980 Chrysler Lancer LC GL A73M Resto
Then of further inspection, looks like the front end's original colour was baby blue I was polishing my boot and due to my horrid paint condition it flaked off down to the undercoat which was also a light blue. coincidence? Im far from an expert on paint however they might have used light colours a...

4g32 twin solex air filter
Where can i buy replacement air filters for the twin solex carbies? They are small and round as seen in the photo below. I took out the insert and showed the guy at repco and supercheap but they couldn't help me. http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii552/Leeroy94/IMG_1189.jpg http://i1259.photobucke...

yer I noticed that about the arrow bumpers :/
Fortunately Cottees has offered to send me a RH end cap so hopefully i can just turn that upside down to get it past rwc.. which apparently will be fine (mechanic's words)

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
Cheap fix for snapped blinker combo switch: Firstly I measured out a metal plate to act as a bracket for the blinker stalk. I used aluminium for this. I bent the metal plate into place using a pair of pliers then drilled the holes required for the bolt and pin. After that it was just a case of testi...

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
So the NOS blinker that dave has wont fit on my LC? Ive attempted a soldering/aroldyte join to try and fix the problem however I wont be suprised if it snaps again. Well if you fit it, how are you going to turn your wipers on? It may physically fit, but it wont do what it needs to. I used to have a...

Another shot in the dark, will these suffice? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KYB-FRONT-SHOCK-ABSORBERS-MI...

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
Yer its just ive been quoted ridiculous prices (gold coast) upwards of $600 for a pair of front shock absorbers installed.
I found these : http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gleneagl ... 1002560072
Are these the ones you were talking about?

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
What shock absorbers should I buy? I was looking at this, only because they sell individual shock absorbers and thats all I need to get it roadworthy. But im not sure if it will fit on my car. Also what is the difference between a rear shock and a front shock? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-C...

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
If the combo switch is the same as in GC/GD Galant - no idea if they are or not - No they aren't. The blinker stalk is a headlight switch, and the other side has the wiper control. LC rear bumper end cap
So in order to get a road worthy I need both end caps for my rear bumper because of "sharp edges"
What is the best way to fix this situation?
Obviously an original end cap will be hard to find, could I use one from a sigma or something to get it past roadworthy then take it off later?

Re: Leeroy's 1980 Lancer A73 resto project
Problem:
If the car is idling with no problems, and i put my foot down on the accelerator it chokes and if kept down stalls. If i slowly compress the accelerator it revs upto red line area. Is this a carby issue or is it something else?
