What about running a sigma radiator + an oil cooler?
Thats what the g54bt Starion guys do in the US.
On the starquestclub forums you'll notice they use oil coolers more often than upgrading the radiator, but thats probably because they're all factory turbo.

Re: Custom Crank Pulley
what does a harmonic balancer actually involve? It may be worth incorporating into my design as long as its not too complex. Also noone seemed to notice 1 major flaw I have.. I picked up the factory pulley from the supercharger the other day and counted 8 ribs, not 6. I wonder if anyone has tried pu...

Assuming the same gearbox ratios (usually is) I think it should get ~2700rpm at highway speed
Dont ask me how to make it fit though, can't say I've tried.

Re: Manual Gearboxes whats easy to fit to a sigma
Another thing that not many people consider, is it depends greatly on how you drive You can cruise around in a loud powerful machine and a standard old jap box no worries.. but if you like to sit at traffic lights revving it in neutral then jamming it into 3rd with no clutch, its not going to be so ...

if your engine is 2.0L or previously automatic - Narrowblock Jap 5spd If your engine is a 2.6L MANUAL already - Wideblock Jap 5spd They are the best bolt-ins you get without modification, just need the original crossmember from your old box.. assuming you have one If you already have a jap box and i...

Custom Crank Pulley
As some of you may know I'm in the process of building a supercharged 2.6, using an Eaton M90 (from a 3.8L Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe) The m90 6-rib pulleys are easily available in a range of 2.4" to 3.8" for every 0.1". If I have a 4.8" pulley on the crank and 3.8" on the ...

What about just locking up the mechanical advance?
only time thats in effect is high rpm, and its rare that you'll be at high rpm without boost
Isn't the ideal way, but I'm sure its been done a few times as a cheap alternative

I wouldnt think there is any difference between mechanical and hydraulic lifters
The cam lobes/rockers still run on the same type of slipper bearing surface and theres no reason why it would have different timing

Nice work so far.. I find the gearbox part especially interesting. You say you used an l200 driveshaft, which I believe uses a 2L Jap box, but different spline to other jap boxes. Yet you have a 2.6L jap box. Or is it a narrowblock with the 2L box? I've confused myself again just trying to figure it...

Re: Pros/Cons removing balance shafts
So how is the lower balance shaft removed (the one that ISNT behind the oil pump)?
I got the one out of the oil pump simply by unbolting everything i saw and it slid out, the other one though is sealed in, with a welsh plug on the other end. Does the plug need to be removed?
Cheers,
Chris

The plan is to have it sitting in the space between the headers and strut tower.. I'll get some sort of heat shield to go over the headers which will provide some protection at least. Trying to keep it all under the bonnet too. See I wanted to use a 45DCOE weber on an eaton M90 supercharger, when co...

4 Extra bolts on the head?
I'm just wondering what these 4 bolt holes are used for:
I can't seem to find any pictures where its being used for anything other than a lift point when using an engine crane

Or did you custom fit the inlet onto an astron 2 head?

Those ones you highlighted are for the water flow, the small hole on that side means rear wheel drive only (thermostat at the front) The main difference between astron 1 and 2 heads is the bolt pattern of the inlet manifold. You'll notice on the back edge (closer to rear of motor) the astron 1 has b...

I've got a GJ scorpion, 3.308 in the service manual.. but I recently counted the teeth on the gears and got ~3.2 (counted 3 times because I knew it wasnt right..)
According to the manual 3.308 is the lowest they come in, no matter what country or gearbox.
