Re: Rolling the lip on the front guards.
Inner comes out with phillips screws.. Then the outer should roll as normal, just dont expect the inner to fit anymore And you might wanna have some paint handy to touch up the cracks from rolling Also can I ask why you want to roll the guards? I was thinking of taking a cutting wheel to mine and sl...

Re: saturn/astron gasket codes
down at repco they have about 5 different astron gasket kits. all different codes, for different cars etc, but same kit one i got was a mitsubishi canter 2.6L (cheapest), and it has every single variation of old/new 4g52/4 and even some which look like 4g63. despite how much the repco guy argued dif...

Have you checked to make sure the car has headlights installed? :geek: But seriously there is a relay type plug thing in the top corner of the engine bay right behind the driver side headlight.. if someone was playing around it could have been bumped I managed to rip mine out when removing the radia...

.... If you drill the rear and get it in the right place none of the drilling crosses the other holes. .... How does that work? I have wheels which are drilled for both 4 and 5 stud x 114.3.. And 1 hole is used for both patterns, and in 2 other occurances, holes are touching with about 20% overlap

Re: 5 stud conversion
Why not go for an alternate axle in the rear? Like an XE/F Falcon Diff (140mm wider, but can be shortened) or Skyline diff.. I know the R31 is only 60mm wider, but I'm fairly sure they're 4 stud, can't quite remember. Either way there are countless options, redrilling could even work too.. just not ...

That means they probably will fit But thats doesn't mean I'd recommend it.. With the amount of different wheel sizes and offsets and widths available, its hard to tell even WITH all the numbers. You're best bet is if they're local enough.. drive out and trial fit one on the front of your car. If it ...

Re: Speedo delay?
Maybe the zero reading is just misaligned?
Like when you stop the car its trying to say NEGATIVE 20-30 but the stopper at zero would make it look like it does nothing
I'd suggest having a look at the back of it to see if its adjustable
Cheers,
Chris

Can anyone give me the ratio's of a 4spd borg warner box off a 2L GE Sigma?
Didn't grab the speedo cable so I'm thinking I can judge speed by rpm instead
For anyone interested the jap 5spd from a GJ scorpion:
1st 3.369
2nd 2.035
3rd 1.360
4th 1.000
5th 0.856
Rev 3.635

Re: EFI nitrous kit onto a carby?
I cant help with experience, but I know the theories behind it.. the sole purpose of nitrous is to increase oxygen in the airfuel mixture by itself would not increase power.. mixed with an increase in fuel flow to accomodate the oxygen - is where the power is Being carby it probably wouldn't measure...

Re: Awesome Turbo Setup (MUST READ)
Just another word of wisdom for ya, if you still wanna go through with the rear mount turbo.. it'd probably be better to have it either infront of the diff, or in the boot with the exhaust re-routed up through the floor. (and ventillate the boot obviously..) The reason I say this is (at least on the...

ok well after some messing around we determined the ignition DOES switch off with the key, however its the alternator which is still providing power to the engine.. Someone else suggested the same thing, but I got the engine/box alone as is with no ute to be seen (got rear ended before internals were removed apparently)
and no L200's at the local wreckers so I'm going to swap the boxes over.
both narrowblock so hopefully that will go to plan

Matey, I think the last thing you need to do is mod the engine. Something tells me  that without a suspension and brake upgrade, you will not see many more Birthdays. Even just a lowly suck thru can make the car bloody dangerous with standard suspension. And then there is the gearbox and diff...

Now I know the Jap 5spd boxes come in both narrow and wideblock variations, but should there be different splines in the back end too? Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
In terms of drag racing, it'd be going backwards.. As a few of us have said already it wont rev up too quickly at all But combined with a strong driveline and really sticky big tyres it'd pull some impressive wheelstands and takeoffs in general. Would also be good for a streeter as it'd have a towin...

Well I've (finally) got the old engine out of the car.. only to find the input shaft location on the L200 jap 5spd is about 2 inches further to the front of the car than a TN magna jap 5spd (or whatever one was attached to my TN motor :P) The box mount is wrong too, but thats fixable.. If the input ...
