V8 conversion is pending test fitting. If it is going to be too snug it can go in the KE70 and I'll persevere with the 20det in the scorp. Really didn't want to hack the shell to fit it but a VL balancer should clear the rad support and an rx4 radiator with a header tank should fit behind the grille.
The RB20 is a spastically reliable motor if left relatively stock. Crank up the boost and fuel and enjoy the revs. Decided it belongs in a VH commodore though just to annoy Holden people as well. The ex-Nascar Chev V8 makes it no longer a viable drift car, the agricultural steering setup in the scor...
My other projects in the last 2 months included: Banging this thing together out of scrap metal https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q77/s720x720/1383900_10152293689918356_20474186_n.jpg Tidying up my daily driver https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/q79/s720x720/...
Also it appears that using an RB20 gearbox and not an SR20 one will put the shifter very close to the standard position, and the stock scorp gearknob fits the Nissan stick.
So the disrespectful Datslerbishi progresses slowly.
Well a few people have told me that Triton 2wd and Pajero front diff gears will fit. Planning on getting another ratio like a 4.1 to 4.6 to suit the RB a bit better. Other than that just a weldy for now.
If it blows up I'll put an R31 or falcon diff in the rear.
I've been talking to an engineer and he is willing to sign off on it if everything is up to spec. Might be getting club/street rego and I can come to events so you guys can hate me in person
Well most of the front suspension, the brakes, the astron, the gearbox and the seats are already in the throwout pile. It is all in fairly bad shape though.
a 2.5 out of a mazda would be good fun too. I highly recommend something mechanical injected if you can, then there is no fucking around with ECUs etc.
a 3ltr turbo RC colorado engine would be a lot of fun. They are a bulky 4 cylinder much like an astron so you wouldn't have much of an issue fitting it. Biggest thing would be ECU and a custom sump.
If you ever wanted to street drive it, I imagine you would need an engineers. This bodyshell isn't worth trying to street register which is why it is going down this path.
My initial plan was club plates but it would have cost me a small fortune in just body repairs even if I did them myself.
Well with very minor work, most of an S chassis will fit into the front of the scorpion. Coilovers, lcas, knuckles, hubs, brakes. Was going to have a go at fitting an R33 crossmember and rack and pinion setup as well so it will actually steer. Unlike its current 4.5 turns from lock to lock. They rb ...
The car has been in a front and rear end accident at some point in its life. Both rear quarters a magnet won't stick to and the interior is rotten with a large ant colony living in it. The engine didn't run, the box felt like it was in neutral when it was in gear and brake fluid leaks out as fast as...
The way I see it, I saved this bucket from a scrap metal yard and am giving it a new lease on life.
Would you rather see it being used on track, rubbing panels with other cars. Or would you rather see it sitting on top of a pile at sims, waiting to be turned into a Great Wall?
