Re: The imported jap-spec GJ GSR 1984 (aka my baby)

By the looks of the burn marks on the bonnet and the melted brake reservoir, I would be inclined to believe a fuel line wasn't clamped on properly.

Petrol sprayed all round the engine bay and was ignited by the turbo, which in turn lit everything up.

Just an educated guess.

Cheers.

Re: Recommended Turbo for Astron II 2.6L?

I'm not 100% sure how to read these graphs but since a 2.6L engine uses approx 1.3L per revolution, are you sure your calculations are correct?

Re: Dismantle of a TR/TS Throttle body problems

Use an IMPACT SCREWDRIVER.
This Item
BUT
buy it at Bunnings for about $20.

You hit one end with the hammer which both jars the screw and turns it slightly.

(heating it will also help)

Re: Fluctuating temperature and fuel gauge issue

I dont think it would be variable. Thats what would happen if you didnt have a regulator. It would be a constant voltage. so the gauges always receive the same voltage no matter what is happeneing with the battery or charging circuit. My guess would be 9v. To clarify. The VARIABLE VOLTAGE REGULATOR...

Re: Fluctuating temperature and fuel gauge issue

If you know what voltage it is supposed to be, the regulators are easy to choose. LM78xx (where xx is the voltage required). They require at least a 2.7v difference to regulate properly. Most likely it will be a 9v regulator. Jaycar part numbers are: STOCK-CODE: ZV1505 RRP: $1.65 7805 +5V 1A Voltage...

Re: Blown Head Gasket/Head Need Advice

From memory the M8 has a kidney shaped section to "SWIRL" the gasses to improve emissions, but I believe it does reduce the flow a bit compared to the M6 and M7 magna heads. The M8 head would still be alot better than a standard Astron I head. DON'T FORGET the inlet manifold bolt pattern a...

The Starion seats and rails bolt straight into a GJ Scorp with no modification.
The seat also sits lower, which is good for me because I'm over 6'.

Very close to what you would need and legal.

4 Coils on the right (wasted spark?). Fuel rail and injectors are at the bottom of the inlet manifold. High Pressure fuel regulator just near it. Not sure about the dizzy, possibly TP. In a nutshell, as far as what diff fits where, GE, GH Sigmas/Scorpions and all WAGONS will swap. GJ to GN Sigmas/Scorpions will swap. SOME GE scorps have 8-bolt jap diffs the rest have the 10-bolt jap diffs(these are much stronger than the 8-bolt). There are sigma B/W diffs with disks but they have ...
