Re: Another engine for the Triton.

Any reason your using aluminium buttons for gudgeon pin instead of the Teflon ones? First time I have seen aluminium being used for these. Pistons are aluminium, and it's much lighter than Teflon. superscan, not sure why or if its my pc, but none of your pics are loading tonight ... :\ Doing a few ...

Re: Another engine for the Triton.

Thanks for the comments Geezer101, but in fact, there are quite a few things I'll probably be doing different for the FULL builds I'm planning. A lot of the things I'm doing are just to test a few theories, short term, to make sure my 14.5:1 CR engine will perform AND survive some possible "hig...

Wagon gearbox gearboxes and diffs are based on the GE/GH Sigma, ie: ALL Sigma wagons have short extension housings on the gearbox and all Sigma Wagon diffs have the same arms and spring arrangement as a GE/GH Sigma/Scorpion. I know that GN Wagons have the Jap 5 speed gearboxes but BW diffs. You can ...

David Vizard on engine tuning etc...

Well worth the 2 hours to watch, especially if you are wanting to build a strong engine.

A lot of the basic, but very important concepts you need to know and understand, are explained well.

There is a 3-pin voltage regulator on the back of the dash that is usually the culprit for the gauges not working properly.

Worth a try...

I take it you are talking about the center bearing in the tailshaft..

If so, I may have a new one and should be able to get the part number.

450 from 60l :| That's worse than the 351 in my GH its running a 3800 stall and 3.45 gears, though im not running e85 I know, but with a 4.9 diff ratio and smaller wheels than standard, I'm sitting on 3300pm while cruising at 110kph. Re: how much did you pay for your engine?

Cost to build a performance 2.6L astron engine would be around $1500 to $3500, depending on how much work you are able/capable/prepared to do yourself. Another benefit of a properly built engine is the fuel economy. When driven "mildly", because they are designed to work efficiently, the 2...

Can you or your mates weld Aluminium? If yes, the Magna TP/TN EFI manifolds are cheap and are relatively easy to modify. Turn around the top plenum which only requires drilling a few holes, plug the injector ports then cut and weld the thermostat to the front and you are almost done for the inlet. I...

From what I have read and used, A CDI unit is good. It has more "spark energy" so for a high comp or boosted application, they are great. For a normal engine, the idle and low rpm are smoother but apart from that, no other noticeable improvements are had. Even with my 11.2:1 comp engine ru...
