Seat rail ideas

Post by 75glnt »

Hey guys!

Wondering, what have we all done to mount aftermarket seats into our cars?

Also, how do universal seat rails work?

Cheers,
Mick :)

What car are you talking about?
What sort of seats?

With my old Monza seats I just used high grade steel flat bar to use the standard mounts on the runners and the stock holes on the seats.

I then bought my brides because they are the same width as standard.
Just drilled 2 holes in the runners as the length is 3 inches shorter.

Just like 77galantv6 wrote.
Some seats are pretty much a straight bolt in.
I have Recaros in my wagon, they have the same width in the bolt up pattern as the factory Galant seats. All I had to do was drill 4 extra holes in the factory seat slider rails (Recaros bolt up with 6 bolts not 4), I used the factory rear holes and drilled the fronts to suit.

Dave...

Sorry guys.. It's for my l200 ute.

The seats are autotecnica seats. The ute bolt holes are a little wider than the galants.. By about 10mm

I did mine just like Dave, but I need new or change up my seat belts. Right side doesn't play well with the new seat.
