Cheap easy way to secure cables/hoses

Post by amgis_obrut »

Picked this up off a mate who does it on his front engine dragster some may have seen it before

its an easy cheap way to secure hose/wires etc and also make things neater, it can also be used for ignition wires

you'll need a few quality cable ties and depending on what your doing you may just need to use normal ties or if you need to secure things to body/chassis etc you will need the push in ties

heres a demo of how i do it

I use this type when mounting to body/chassis, just need to drill a 6mm hole and push them in

First just loosely loop a tie around the thing you need to secure

next loop another tie around the first tie like this

pull the 1st tie until hoses are nearly touching the 2nd tie

pull 2nd tie tight and there you have it

Heres some i done on my car using the push in ties

Yep, a neat idea.

Only improvement I would suggest is to use self-adhesive cable tie mounts rather than the pug-in ones - so if you need to move things around in future the car doesn't end up looking like swiss cheese !
