Flares and front Diffuser

Post by regina »

Howdy,

Just wondering if anyone might have any knowledge on flares and Front diffuser that fit the LA lancers. I had a search on the old forum site and noticed both members, SIR and Big26L, made mention of these items. Any ideas on what fits, where to get and prices would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Mick

A guy called Carlos owns Sports Classic.....hes expensive but top notch. Dont bother asking less for cash either because he wouldnt give a discount to his own mother if she asked. But his stuff is very worth its while.

I've got a set of the Sportclassic ones from Carlos. Decent price for them too, maybe he just doesn't like TCC members ;)

Make an offer if you want them, they are no where near big enough for my needs.

What width are the flares? It doesn't really matter it is the look I am after as much as wheel coverage.

I have a mould for the flares that you can see on my 2 door in the members ride section (page 3 I think). I haven't really advertised them because they are pretty basic i.e there is only one mould for all four corners and they have gaps unless you run a rubber strip between the flare and body. I am having 8 sets made atm for our cars and a few friends. They will be $200 a set if anyone is insterested + postage.

NB. Flares are included in the FIA endorsed homologation papers for LA and LB's.

TCC is Thornleigh Car Club, there is a long running friendly rivalry between them and Hills District Car Club, where Carlos and myself are members.

Here are a couple of pics of the dummy fitting of the flares, it never went past this point so the flares are basically brand new. Definitely worth more then $50 unless you are offering per flare...

Yeah Carlos is them man for the flairs......about $160.00 a set when i was chatting to him late last year. I have also seen RA40 celica flares used, as well.
The front spoiler I used was a copy of the spoiler off the old GroupC LB lancer (check out Bathurst year books 79-83) It looks very similiar to an escort, but quite a bit narrower.
I also cutdown a S1-3 RX7 wing for the rear, as we were running IPRA with the car and were limited in wing heights and widths.

Yeah, got to sell it :( Broke a few ribs and can't race for most of this year so it doesn't make sense having it sit there along with the two other race cars. Tradein offer was a limited time only, was thinking it might make it easier for you but it would make it harder for me as I would have to sell it afterwards! :)
