Help me choose a turbo

Post by GJTurbo »

hey guys, just looking on ebay at the moment and cant decide between:

t70-t04z:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/T70-1-T04Z-C ... 81a&_uhb=1

gt45r:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GT45R-1-GT45 ... b25&_uhb=1

or a gt35r and buy a t4 splint flange housing if it will fit:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GT35-T3-Comp ... 562&_uhb=1
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/turbine-Turb ... 1391033%26

as you might be able to tell im looking for a t4 split flange turbo, any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Treadstone performance in the US does great deals on Turbonetics have a look at the hurricane range they would land them here for under $900 aud the Chinese stuff is getting better but for just a bit more than most of the good ones you can have one that will last.

yes it a sigma-galant forum....it also says "mostly older Mitsu's and Chryslers"

And if you look at the question with more depth, i believe the question actually is,
"what size engine is it going on? 1300,1400,1600,1850,2000 (4G52 or 4G63..SOHC or DOHC),2600 or destroked 2.4

is it single carb, twin carb (down or side draught) single/centre point injection, multi point injection???

Are you after peak power (if so, what target do you have) or are you wantingdrivability for the street or track?

Do you have acertain budget to adhere to??

As a member of this "sigma-galant" forum, they are the questions we need answered before we can help you out with ur question

Yea, I want to put a gt45r on a 1300.. sorry I didnt mean to be rude I was just after a quick answer before I bought one, I figured seeing as my username is GJTurbo, this is sigma-galant.com and the fact that I was after a t4 split flange turbo would lead most to conclude that I had an astron powered skidma

So yea its 4g54 and im chasing peak power. Break it and then build it stronger is the target in mind. Gunna be running dedicated lpg. Its not a street car and driveabillity is for girls and hairdressers

Chinese turbos may be getting better, however is it a gamble you really want to chance a motor on? Better off saving those pennies for a real turbo that isn't a knockoff.

You could still have a GJ Siggy but maybe you have a 4g63t swap, we don't necessarily know, so thus the questions were asked.

Its a calculated risk that I am prepared to take.. I also have a chinese alloy s13 radiator.

On another note the housing on the t70 to4z hits number one runner on a standard turbo manifold, looks like I need a spacer

It was only GEs that had Galant badging in Australia. Of course everywhere else in the world they were Galants.
The 4G32 was available in Sigmas right up to GK in 1985
