wheels for my wagon

I've finally started really getting into my rebuild of the wagon.
at this stage I can either stay with 4x114.3 or change to 5 stud. shortened commo diff and uprgrade brakes on the front are in the pipeline.

I bought the 17" chrome wheels when was young and dumb  (autosalon style was in full swing), but I know they let the car down so I want to make sure I get it right this time.

I think the wide body starion wheels would look great on it, any other suggestions.
maybe the same wheels again but in machined not chrome like steve has.

btw
wantanabes or rotas (if I can't get the right size) are planned for the scorpion once the second job money starts rolling in and this project is well underway, the the Rangie is going again

The chromies aren't too bad.. A little too "new school"?? :P

Be carefull of Rota's.. They break way too easy! And when they break.. They make sure they wreck at lead the front of your car :P

Wide body Starion are 5 stud so no good to you :(
If I was doing up a wagon I would be following this lead. Get your stockies widened are far as you can and search trademe for a set of these centre caps, I think this look is spot on

hmm i like the widened stockies look.

as for the starion wide body rims,
Im at the point of the project where I can change to 5 stud if I want, it may open up more sutiable options.

yeah Im abit cautious about rotas Ive heard soem stories, but not wanting to go off topic here.

I'm not a big fan of big chromies but your wagon carries those 17s quite well -i think the lighter colour helps.
There's quite a lot out there in 4x114.3 these days and getting new wheels in custom sizes, offset and PCD is so much cheaper than it used to be -so i wouldn't be changing stud pattern unless you had a particular set of wheels you HAD to have.
If you are keen on a diff and brake upgrade then it's another story -especially if its more cost effective to switch to 5 stud for the upgrade.

What about some BBS style meshies?

if ur not wanting the factory PP's

Then go with Simmons wheels....Either B45's or the FR series (FR17 means 17", FR18 is 18" and so on)
The B45's were THE wheel to have in the 80's where as the FR series was basically the wheel used if u wanted a 'cleaner' looking wheel (the FR are extremely common if u back date to the 1st 5 years of Hot4's/Fast f's magazines

The other wheel i like (and i had them on my GJ sedan) was the GT 12 slotter....again, the wheel of choice for the 70's and 80's....and being steel (not alloy), they can be widened if u want

My 2c worth

thanks guys for some more options, guys.
not sure how the meshies would look or the simmons I'll attempt to mock something up in paint.

it a hard decision, but I still have a bit of time.

ddt, the back end will be getting a shortened commo diff (sitting at home) so its either convert it to 4 stud or convert the front to 5, either way one ends going to need more work.

I was thinking something like these....

They have a wide range of sizes and are built quite well.

found some sigma wagons with different wheels.

mesh:

as Jas suggested

not sure what these are, need to do further investigating - could be another version of stockies.

starion wheels. i'd go black or charcoal for the red highlights. & what looks like 12 slotters.

has anyone ever photochops or attempted to fit 4 spoke supra wheels? like the widebodied starion ones?

what do they look like.

The Supra 4 spokes would give a similar effect to the widebody starion rims above but not look as beefy. I think the 4 spokes may be too recognisable as a Toyota rim, though.

People dis Rotas sometimes but I'm sure they're be fine as long as you don't power-drift into curbs. I reckon something like the Rota Classic looks pretty tough -see below. It's not a brilliant photochop cos i initially used the Bronze versions and had to fake the chrome lip with gunmetal centres. They are 16in here.

(IMHO) GT 12 Slotters are the best 'steel' wheel around

although they are reasonably hard to get nowadays...you can still buy them off the shelf (i bought a pair of 14X7's) of the shelf.

Or, a set of black Sigma stockies (widened) with chrome dress rings, wheel nuts and centre caps  they would look the goods too i reckon

Hey mate.. Google dynamic wheels.. They do a range of steel rims.. From the original triangle shapes (sunrasias), round hole shapes, and D shapes.. I'm going with the D shapes. 16x8 -34
