Ha, yes, perhaps a little harsh but he's on and off the throttle too much - too tentative. An engine like that loves to rev and you need to keep 'up it' - crucial in a bitumen motorkhana - wheelspin is king and the car is sooo much easier to drive - far more fluid! (but yes, nit-picking perhaps ) He has definitely got good taste though....
Bogan's motorkhana in the Lancer is good for the eyes and ears too

Good drivers have dead bugs on the side windows.....
Actually the reason that prompted the rebuild of the FTO was running in a motorkhana in 2003
Certainly not knowing a history on the motor i should of taken it easy but shit happens
Not having a rev limiter fitted caused engine damage after my 3rd run
Nothing to serious luckily
thats why it now runs a MSD and limiter
It's certainly an engine worth protecting

Certainly not wanting to jack this thread but the flares that Carlos had - I'm pretty sure they're the Lancer 'works' flares aren't they? I didn't think he had the GTO/FTO ones?? (they are quite diferent)

When it was imported into Perth in the mid nineties it had the 4g32 dohc fitted.
I'm the cars 4th owner in OZ and the other guys had no idea how rare it was.
It does have a stroker crank out of a nimbus fitted.
Darren
Oh HELL yeah, thats sweeeeeet!
So you even managed to get it at a good price im guessing, if they didnt know what it was. How did you find it?
Carlos's guard flares are definitely for lancers. I don't know how close they are to the works flares or if they'll fit anything else but they're definitely for lancers.

A mate bought it as a runabout then 2 months later needed some money for a turbo for another project

What do you reckon guys 13x7 on front & rear
13x6 on front 13x7 on rear
Or hang out for something like these !!

I like the last two much more, I am not a big fan of 13's but if you gotta have 13's you need lots of dishy dish. Something like 13x6 +10 on the front and 13x8 +-0 on the back
Maybe a different colour in the centre though? Metallic charcoal grey?
( IMO Black is too dark and silver is to light for your body colour, for this style of wheel anyway).
The bottom pick look good also, but the picture of them is very flattering, I've seen other pics with cars with those wheels I'm not a big fan of them

Hi all :-)
I'm local in Perth & wanted to find out some info/assistance re: engineering approvals for these type of cars. The owner of this beaut FTO may be able to help me out... How would I go about contacting Darren ?? Cheers (I've got something in the 'pipeline'- as they say... hehe
