Nice history there......What happened to the original heater?
I eventually bought a new GA in 1972, owned it for 8 years, sold it to a mate (who previously owned a 2 litre GTO).He had the GA another 8 or 9 years. It would have done more than 350,000km including being fitted with a 45DCOE Weber and fanged at car club events. The only thing that ever broke was the piss-weak early model diff. GB onwards had a bigger diff.............
Great car!

yea i was thinking of changing diff the standed 4.222 ratio is a bit short for long drives but great on the dirt!

I'd love a 4.22 for the rally car ... pity the early GA ones are made of cheese & a complete waste of time.
It would be nice if there was a simply transplantable lower ratio for Galants .... the bank balance won't run to something custom

slight change of plans.. i pulld out the camshaft the other day and there was sum minor scoring on the bering jornals or watever there calld? and so im now thinking i may as well rebuild the whole head b4 i put it back on the road.. so y im saving for new valves and springs etc.. i will finish fitting my breaks and new shocks...
once the head is finished b4 i fit it im going to do the bottem end too. new berrings, rings and a set of those pistons that shuggy is selling! i no this will mean a lot more time of the road but it dosent bother me im happy to do a bit every week and just be pationt..
anyone no a good place to get the head recoed? or the bottem end ballenced? thanks for reading.

There is a place on Main North Rd near Parafield Airport that have a sign saying they give the best head jobs in town. There is no red light and I haven't seen any slappers around so they might be worth a look, lol

That is a cool old car! Get that bumper reco'ed..Plenty of places that do that sort of stuff. And superlight wheels are a nice option and make the car feel lighter on the road.

It's a GA, there are heavier Matchbox cars
Superlites do look good though. 13x7 all 'round with 205/60 rubber would be cool
Looking good mate

Have used both of these places before.
McLaren Motor Engineering

Beverley SA 5009

This one would be a bit more of a drive for you to get to but still recomend them.

You won't find nice rims in the factory offset. The Superlites are +4 right? Provided they don't stick out of the guards you'll be fine
You'll want to go closer to neutral offset anyway, a 13x7 +25 or whatever the stock offset is would hit the strut
