Okay guys,
My hardtop is away to paint next week, very exciting times.
Thoughts are that I should have it back in about 3 weeks. At the end of this I would like to have an engine ready to bolt in.
I want someone in SA who can build me a street 200rwkw 4G63 for RWD??
I have a fewe guys of my own but if there are locals that have an interest in Mitsubishis I would prefer to send it there.
I have spoken to Steve Knight and he is able to sell me a complete package, pretty sure it is from a GE.
Point is I want to drop my block at someone I can trust and will make good HP
????

personally I'd stick with steve knight. However if you want someone closer to you i've read good things from evo-oz about Mike Dale Automotive, but SKR still gets my vote ;)

+1 for mike dale. he did all the work on my car recently. his workshop is at holden hill. he is basically the steve knight of the northern suburbs. can sometimes take a bit longer depending what he has on but will make you a wicked engine. he does work on tonnes of vr4's and evo's. he has a vr4 as his rally car.

They should fill the gaurds nicely once the back is lowered, still trying to finalise a diff. Think I am going to use a disc brake R31 LSD for starers and see how that works out before going bigger brakes and 5 stud if needed.

What car did these wheels come from?

Easter and time off from my new job has thrown up a few problems $$$$ wise so the paint is off until after easter so all sould be in colour by end of May

i want new bushes!!! but there are a few different sets on ebay and i dont know which ones are for where and which ones need replacing and how much it costs to get done. my steering just feels a bit sloppy. my mate changed the bushes in his 260z and its so much smoother

Replacing sway bar mount and drop link rubbers made the world of difference to the coupe. Since its been off the road I've replaced ball joints, tie-rods, drag link and idler arm? (the bit that's opposite the steering box, can never remember the name of it) replaced the rear spring bushes, lower control arm bushes and I even tracked down a tighter steering box. Surprisingly it didn't cost a great deal to do either.
I don't think there's an old bit of rubber in the whole car!

Cant wait to get it back on the road and see how much tighter it feels.

Okay, update time.
I have secured a rebuilt 4G54 for the hardtop. I know I was banging on about DOHC and 4G63's but in all honesty my job change has pulled the purse strings pretty tight so mad conversions are out of the questions.
This engine will be a good match to my BW78 LSD and my Starion 5spd.
I am on the look out for an aftermarket 4G54 turbo manifold, a turbo, ECU, loom and a few other bits and pieces. If you have anything you think may be of interest pm me and see how we go.

Thanks man, I have spent a massive amount of time on the wheels. They are a make or brake on most cars, and while personal opinion is just that no one wants to be the only person who likes their wheels/car.
I am wrapped with how they have turned out and hope most members are too.
Once I have the paint finished it really is about a few weeks away from sorted. My fingers are crossed for the end of October but realisticly it should be mobile in August/September.

Okay, so this isn't really car related but it is kinda and I think pretty cool.
So as many will have read and some of you will have experienced (ie; I will pay for stuff bought, lol ) but I moved jobs at the end of January. I was pretty much sick of my employers lack of support and pretty shit attitude, turns out I moved into something a bit better but with very shit money.
So the last few weeks I have been shopping myself around. Today I got an offer from my prefered employer that they were offering me a job, they offered more money than I expected and less hours. Can't really complain about that, lol. So as soon as I get my letter of offer through on Monday I will quit my current job.

My point is that I will be in more money and less comitted hours so the Hardtop should really start to move along soon

Just a quick update that isn't an update at all, lol. Plans are still out there, I want to have a running, drivable car by the end of October.

So from your pics and latest buys, are you going Turbo now?

Yeah Dan, I have changed plans soooo many times but I have been going turbo for a while now but was leaning towards a 4G63DOHCT then SOHCT but now going 4G54T still hoping for 160ish RWKW. Still have the Starion G/Box and my narrowed Centura LSD converted to 4x114.3 so once I get the engine sorted the running gear is in and done.

Yeah more money less hours is a dream come true, lol. I have been working 50+ a week but this new job has netted me an extra 5K per year and is a strict 8-4 Mon-Fri office job

I think the VR4 turbo option would be awesome. Smooth, good and easy power, but after seeing one fitted not long ago, its a big ask without chopping up the firewall... Is that part of the decision?? 2litre numbers stamped on a 2.6 is what I have heard is a good way to get past an engineer... So ive heard ;)

That was the main concern, I really don't want to chop into the firewall or the body at all really. Yeah, I have removed the front indicators but thats only front gaurds, lol.

Concerning how? I wouldn't think it would be too much of an ask with the right componants. Is it?

Turbo 2.6 you can get a reliable 200+ im aiming for 250kw @wheels. And my tuner has had 300kw in a magna with a stock cam....
