You guys know exactly what I mean, the whole aisle was chrome air filters, pedal covers, little breather filters and carbie adaptor plates.
Supercheap is worse, who I also visited today, they are selling light globes now, proper house type light globes. WTF does that have to do with cars.
I will put it out there for the record...... In 10 years time, Woolies and Coles will be selling petrol, food, car parts, tyres and a car wash all from the one site!

well a little inside information from when I worked for coles, the reason that wesfarmers bought coles was to do exactly that though they still haven't figured it all out yet

OKAY ( I meant the caps, lol) OKAY, so I know there are some differing thoughts regarding painting my engine bay but I was bored today and got it sorted.

Over all shot
Image
Image
Image

Booster painted metalic silver with red spacer and metalic gun metal res support
Image

Inlet manifold, metalic gun metal grey with metalic silver thermo housing
Image

KMAC surrounds sprayed meatalic silver - will be rechromed when $$$ allow's
Image

The white paint on the block is really just a spray over to get the idea.
So I have gotta sort out rocker cover colour I am thinking metalic silver ribs and white body??
and not sure yet on painted or polished carbs.
As always, please feel free to coment good or bad :D

idk if you think my ideas a bit wierd but maybe you could do like an effect to blend the red into the white. like on the fire wall have small red flames engulfing the top white part

It's looking kinda 1950's retro with the red and white. Hard to say if it's working or not (that said, if you can execute it properly it'll have have huge 'wow' factor). A fully polished rocker cover will look great with strong colours to work with.

So I am going to have a crack at pulling my carbs down tomorrow. I have never pulled one apart with the intention of putting it back together other than changing the needle and seat on a strommy, lol.
I have found an awesome exploded view online so wish me luck

Should also include the link that has the pic in it, which has the list of what the parts are.

Got a fantastic and long awaited phone call today. My compensation claim has been approved, had a figure attached and will be in the bank by the end of September
It isn't a massive amount of money and I won't be retiring early or anything but it is enough to finish the hardtop.
To be honest I am finding it hard to concerntrate at work now, I need to sit down tonight and work out the logistics and get the ball rolling :)

So I have had a good think about the hardtop and had a good chat with my old man and we have decided to paint the car ourselves. He has done a few cars and boats in the past and has all the equipment, how hard can it be ...........................
Anyway I have made a to do list and given it some approximate figures.
Fingers crossed it all unfolds nicely and the hardtop should see the road by the end of October.
Wish me luck :P

JOB COST
EXHAUST $1,500
PAINT $1,000
INTERIOR $1,500
WHEEL ALIGNMENT $100
REGISTRATION $180
DIFF NARROWING $450
AXLE SHORTENING $300
REAR SUSPENSION $500
BUMPER BARS $600
NUMBER PLATES $200
COOLING SYSTEM $500
FUEL SYSTEM BITS $500
TOTAL $7,330

I have allocated $9,000 so should be okay with the things that pop up, and they will, lol

Who are getting to do the exhaust at that price? I got a full 2" SS exhaust with a custom fabricated 'glass pack muffler for $550. Admittedly it was a while back but that was a good price then.

D & T Performance exhaust. This includes custom extractors, in the curly lobster tail design I love :) and full 2 inch system using my rear muffler and a glass pack resonator.
$900 for the extractors and $400 for the system. My figures are rounded up as it always seems to roll out that way anyway, lol

Ohhhh... I've heard dubious feedback from a few guys who've had systems built by them. Mainly the reason why their systems are so expensive is the little custom badge they stick on their products. Get a quote from everlast- bit of a trek @ TTP but well worth it. ;-)

So, I decided instead of getting my stock seats re trimmed to have a look around for other options.
So this is what I found (H)

Full leather retrimmed A55C GTO seats front and rear.

Bought these from Yahoo Japan via Import Monster. They weren't cheap as you would expect but still saved over getting mine re-done and f*@k they are cool

Looking good Jason!!!

& those seats.... :| Very nice find! are they a direct fit for the hard top?

Also, for "anything" Dellorto, you can't go past EuroCarb, these guys are great to deal with!
