Another new project......
Another new project......
Okay, so I have secured a deal (subject to finance, lol) for the purchase of a long desired 70's Mitsubishi project
Sadly I don't have any pics to share yet so I will keep the model and all other details under my hat for a little while but needless to say I am super excited.
This one is going to be a full JDM factory stock rebuild, in the end it will look like it just left the show room floor, exactly like the brochures is the plan
Anyway, I thought I would start a slightly premature build thread to get everyone's thoughts flowing

Re: Another new project......
I wish it was anyone of those cars you mentioned Scorpma but it is not and no I don't have it yet, just finalising the deal but the handshake has taken place, lol. Then it is a day trip there and back to collect it.
How ever it is something I think is just as cool.
I have bought Ben's A53H hardtop
This is a factory GS shell and that is how I am going to keep it.
It will be as close to factory fresh as it can be, with safety in mind a few small items will be updated like seat belts and strut tops.
This is what it will look like when done but I am unsure if it will be white or orange
Either way it will be a very long build, might not see the road for 3 or 4 years.

Re: Another new project......
Good luck with the project mate! Ha ha, better you than me. I've lost motivation lately - find it hard enough changing a wheel after rolling a tyre off the farm cars these days
Re: Another new project......
Cheers guys.
As I said this won't be a quick build but it will be a complete build, I am talking absolute bare shell on a rotisserie build.
Having said it won't be quick I have already started collecting parts and ordering others, lol.
The R/H rear 1/4 is my biggest concern and it needs far more work and skill than I have. Ben has a mate who makes replacement panels from scratch so hopefully I can get him to do some work for me.
Other than that it will a be full JDM spec GS
4G32 1600
Twin side drafts
5 speed
Stock wheels, Colt Hubcaps if I can find them
All JDM lights, grill, mirrors, console, dash, seats and so on. I even have a cunning plan to run JDM number plates
The only things I plan on being upgraded or after market will be, extractors, cam, mild exhaust, seat belts, strut tops, GH front struts and brakes.
Anyway, it will be a few weeks yet until I can collect it from Ben so we will have to wait for more pics or any progress, oh and one more thing .... ummm .... I still haven't told my Wife

Very nice Jas. I still think you're a lucky SOB then. It looks like there is going to be quite a bit of Galant parts on their way across the Tasman then.
It's ok, I'm sure the GC will keep you warm at night.oh and one more thing .... ummm .... I still haven't told my Wife

So pick up has been delayed, by me So I will be collecting it on the 8th, pics from then
I have decided on Sunfire Orange for the paint, this was a factory colour for the A53H's and will look pretty smart I think.
Here is an A53C GTO in the same colour

Good colour choice Jason. I think they look great in the orange. I'm looking forward to watching this build.

Cheers, Nath. The A53 GS in orange used a white stripe but I will be using black
